Behind Enemy Lines

Chapter 2

Scarlett POV

I made it through my first class of the day without being forced into any awkward introduction in front of my whole class thankfully.

In my following class, I sat next to a girl with long mud brown hair and dazzling blue eyes. She seemed to notice that I was a new student so she introduced herself to me.

"Hi,  I'm Marley. You must be for new student," Marley said politely with a smile.

"Hi, I'm Scarlett. And yes, I'm new to the school," I said as I returned her smile. She seemed really nice.

"Well,  if you want to avoid the whole sitting by yourself at lunch thing like I did, than you can come sit with me and the rest of the glee club if you want, " Marley offered.

"That's so nice of you, I think I'll take up your offer. I don't really know anyone yet,  well besides you, " I say with a laugh.

"Well, as of now,  how about we become friends, " Marley said excitedly as she sat up straighter and smiled.

"That would be amazing, " I said excitedly back.

Pretty soon the teacher returned after Marley and I chatted for a few more minutes as if we had known each other our whole lives. It was great to finally have a friend.

We bid each other good bye as we walked off to our next class once the bell had rang. I walked into my biology class and took a seat in the back as other students filed into the classroom.

One student caught my eye and I tried not to stare. He had brown old school Bieber hair with caramel eyes. I tried not to panic as he stood next to the table I sitting at and said in a deep voice,

"Is this seat taken? "

I looked up at home before smiling and answering,  "Nope,  it's open. "

"Mind if I sit here? " He asked politely.

I had to stop myself from shouting 'PLEASE DO' so I played it cool and answered, "No problem at all. "

He smiled quickly before sitting in the seat next to me.

"The name's Ryder,  Ryder Lynn, " Ryder introduced himself to me.  "You must be new. "

"Yeah,  I'm a new student here. My names Scarlett-" I almost accidentally gave away my last name but immediately stopped myself. I didn't know whether this guy was in glee club or not so I had to play it safe because if the people in glee club knew that my older brother was Sebastian, they would probably kick me out of the club.

Unfortunately, that class was over pretty soon much to my dismay. Ryder and I basically talked the whole time. He was really funny and nice and....

Am I seriously getting a crush already?

It's my first day!

During lunch, I walked through the cafeteria and spotted Marley walking towards me.

"Scarlett!" Marley said as she came over an hugged me. This girl was so bubbly.

"Hey Marley, " I said with a smile.

"Come with me, you can meet the glee club! " Marley said as she grabbed my wrist and walked me over to a table.  To my surprise, Ryder was sitting there. He noticed me instantly and smiled with a wave.

I waved and smiles back before Marley introduced me to everyone as I took a seat between Ryder and Marley.

They were all chatting in a conversation and made small talk with Ryder until Sam asked, "Do are you gonna audition for glee club?"
