The sun was hot and the mist from the waves coming to shore offered some relief. Nathan sat in the sand with his bare feet halfway buried in the sand.
It was a great place to think about his current situation. It was quite a grand situation at that. Nathan Sykes, a member of a famous boy band called "The Wanted". It was weird for him to think about how famous they had really become. Not only were they famous for singing, but also had recently signed on to film their own reality TV series. The show was currently airing, which was another reason to be out of the house.
Nathan looked over his shoulder at the beach house his management had rented them for a two-week holiday. They thought it would be a good idea for them to hide out a bit during the airing of the new series.
Nathan sighed and turned back to the sea. He couldn't help but look over his shoulder a few times for people spying or trying to take pictures. He closed his eyes and smiled remembering that he was on a private beach.
His thoughts were interrupted by the sounds of cheering and laughter in the distance. He opened one eye slightly to take a look.
"It wasn't that bad!" one of the voices ahead cried out to another.
The sun was causing a glare so he was unable to see the people laughing.
"It was awful, don't lie." The other person said in laughter.
Nathan put his hand over his eyes to block the sun and look out onto the water. His mouth dropped open slightly. "Wow." He said exhaling.
Two young women were coming in from surfing. One girl was average height with blonde hair, wearing an American flag bikini. The other woman was a similar height, but had long dark wavy hair and a sporty white and blue bikini. It appeared as though the darker haired girl was teaching the other how to surf.
"I think I am done for the day", said the blonde girl.
"Are you sure?" said the other.
The blonde shook her head yes. "You should go though."
The other girl smiled and began to paddle out.
Nathan watched as the girl began to stand up on the board and ride the wave. She was awesome, he thought to himself.
As she came running in with her board she headed over to the dry sand, which was very close to where he was. He quickly turned away and pretended to be very interested in some lads playing football on the sand.
The two ladies were laughing as they gathered up all of their belongings preparing to leave the beach. The blonde one was stepping into her jean shorts when she noticed Nathan quickly glance over at her. He quickly turned away at the point of eye contact.
She smiled as she slowly pulled up her shorts. She leaned into the other girl and tapped her on the shoulder. She then nodded Nathan's way.
The dark haired girl turned to look at the boy in the sand and then glanced back at her friend shaking her head. "Figures you'd notice that."
The blonde lightly hit her arm. "I mean come on, he is a nice one no?" she said looking at him like he was something to eat.
"You are too much." Her friend said.
The blonde rolled her eyes. "Maybe you should notice for once, Mel.
Suddenly her cell phone rang. "Saved by the bell Mel, ha that rhymes." The blonde girl said as she walked away with her phone by her ear.
Mel folded up the blanket they had laid out and began to head toward her friend's jeep when she snuck a glance at the boy in the sand. He just happened to be looking at the same time and their eyes met for a brief second.
He smiled at her and she quickly turned away like she hadn't seen it. But she had seen it and it was a very charming smile. She wanted to look back again, but she had important errands to run.
Maybe she will turn around again, he secretly hoped. Nathan frowned in disappointment. As he stood up, he began to wipe the sand off of his jeans. He turned back hoping for one last glance, but they were gone.
