Naomi's Pov
My purple hair fell into my eyes while class dragged on. I miss Storm. He always made everything better. "Then you subtract this and get this. Then you-" The door slammed open. I look over at the door and my eyes widen. A tan, freckled face boy with dark red hair. He was grinning as he looked around the room till his eyes landed on me. Storm is back? Like really back?!
OOkkkkkaaaaayyy. Let's just rewind a little here.
See, back when I was little, like literally a little kid, like around 5 I had a friend. One only. His name? Well he's the one and only Storm Huskiee. We did almost everything together. Two peas in a pod, conjoined at the hip. Anything like that, we were. I mean, on Halloween we dressed up together as peanut butter and jelly for crying out loud! Everything was perfect here! That, well...The perfectness of everything left once...well...once my mother had died. She was one of the victims of a fire. She worked in the business and the lower part caught fire one day, resulting in the rest of it collapsing and killing almost everyone left inside of it.
It seemed like everything in my world had stopped. Nothing seemed right anymore. I couldn't eat. And whenever Storm called, I would never answer for a month. This seemed to drag on me for a few years on, but with the help of Storm, and the blue crystal necklace my mother gave to me the day before her death, I slowly recovered.
That type of recovery took all of my elementary years away from me. Though more sunlight left my sky when Storm told me he was moving...Even now it hit me hard as I think over what happened...He left the summer before 6th grade... Then I lost him forever.
Now no one really picked on me or anything. Most people in Shiers Creeks are really nice or at the very least kind enough to say sorry if they bump into you. But, then there are always those shady people. The ones that don't come to school often or then don't seem like they are up to anything good. But, we never heard of anything bad. They are the ones that cause most of the questions and curiosity. Which can cause strangers to venture into our little valley home.
Now back to present time.
"Naomi! There you are!" Storm laughed and ran to me, probably to squeeze me to death. I was right. He gave me one of his famous bear hugs and nuzzled his face into my neck. "Stor-" "Mr. Winter what is the meaning of all this?! Not just that, who is he and why did he interrupt my class?!" The teacher hissed at me then Storm. "Naomi, I can't believe this. You actually grew." Storm chuckled. "Yeah finally. Anyways what are you doing back? You said you were moving away." I asked with hope that he is staying for good. "That was only for Middle School silly. I thought I told you that I would be coming back for high school?" Storm said with a sheepish grin. "Besides that I'll be here for all of high school and college." I squealed and hugged him tightly. "Oh my god. You fucking serious?" "Of course Naomi. I promise." Storm said with a smile. I return the smile and hugged him again. His arms rested around my waist. "MR. WINTER!" The teachers voice yelled. Oh I forgot we we're in class. "Yes?" I ask sitting back down with Storm plopping in the seat next to me. "Explain why he came in and disrupting my class." He hissed. I give him a small smile and quick explain, acted like nothing just happened. "Mr. Jackson, the boy that just came is Storm. He'll be starting today." I say sweetly and the teacher's eyes soften. "O-Okay I guess. Just don't interrupt my class like that anymore please. Anyways back to what I was saying."
Storm nudged me and grinned. "Storm you almost got me in trouble." I huff in a hush tone. Storm gives a cute grin and leans back into the chair he claimed. "I couldn't help it. You're too cute not to mess with." My cheeks started to flare up with red. Oh god. "S-Shut up. It's your fault. Don't try to trick me." I hiss playfully and we laugh for a minute before being dismissed. "What's the rest of your classes?" I ask as we slowly walked around the hall. "Here." He simply says handing a piece of paper. I take it and read over it. "It looks like we have the same classes." A smile appeared on Storm's small but soft looking lips. Wait what am I thinking? Sure I haven't see him for years but that can't mean I l-l-l-l-l-l-l-l-like him r-right?!! A blush attacked my cheeks when Storm's face was in front of mine. "S-Storm?!" I stuttered stepping back. Storm grabbed my waist pulling me back and stared into my eyes. W-What is happening? "Don't move." Storm whispered leaning in closer. Everyone around us stopped and stared at us.
