Tristan's POV

I only had a few beers, how could I bet on something like that?  How could I bet on something so stupid?  More importantly how could I be stupid enough to bet on $5000?

*Flashback of Last Night*

"Tristan Truth or Dare?" My best friend Ethan asked.
"Dare" I replied slurring a bit.
"I dare you to- never mind that's impossible" he said as if trying to challenge me.
"Nothing is impossible for me, I'm the king of the world" I said standing up on a table chugging another beer.
"I bet you $5000 that you can't get Sadie Peterson to fall in love with you and give you her V-card, and you have until prom."
I started getting down from the table.
"What's wrong aren't you the king of the world?" Ethan asked me knowing that I wouldn't want to go through with this.
"It's a deal" I said holding out my hand for Ethan to shake.
"Deal, and I want my $5000 in cash."

*Flashback Over*

How could I have been so stupid, I bet on the impossible that was the dumbest bet ever.

Sadie was a straight A student and would tutor people because it looks good on college applications.  I was walking over to her house for 'homework help' even though I really didn't need any and this was just my way of getting closer to her.

When I got to her house her dad answered the door.
"May I help you?"
"I was wondering if Sadie was here?"
"She's in her room, who are you?"
"I'm Tristan Nichols, I wanted to know if Sadie could help me with my homework, I'm falling behind in math and I'm working towards getting a football scholarship."
"Well it's nice to meet you Tristan I'm Joseph Peterson, Sadie's room is right down at hall second door to the right."

I start to walk down the hallway when I see pictures of Sadie and her parents from when Sadie was younger.  I remember when we were in second grade and Sadie's mom would volunteer for anything at our school from field trips to meet the teachers.

I knock on Sadie's door.
"Come in" I hear her say.
I walk in and see her on her bed sitting cris cross with her lap top on her lap.  She looks up from her lap top and furrows her eyebrows.
"What are you doing here?" She asks closing her lap top and standing up.
"I was wondering if you could give me homework help?"
She nods her head and starts walking down the hall into the dining room and we sit down at the table.

"Why are we out here?" I ask confused.
"I'm not going to be alone in my room with a boy" she says smiling.
"Why not" I ask thinking she's scared of me or something.
"Boys have cooties" she giggles.
I smile at her giggle it's the most beautiful sound I've ever heard.

A few hours later

Even though I didn't need any help with my homework Sadie taught me some really good tricks so it's easier to work out the problem.

After our tutoring session Sadie walks me to the door.
"So we have a game next week, are you going?"
"Footballs not really my thing, but I'm sure there are tons of sluts... I mean girls dying for you to ask them to go to the game that everyone knows about because we have something called posters in the hallways at school." She says trying to close the door on me but before she can I stick my foot out.
"I'm asking you" I say hoping she will listen to me.
"Maybe next time" she says finally closing the door and locking it.  Well that's not how it was suppose to go down.
