Chapter 4: Infirmary

«Laito's view»

Subaru picked Shizuka up bridal style, we than headed for the infirmary. Subaru kept silent through out the journey to the infirmary. Although he does have a slight blush on his face. I couldn't help it, I knew my brother was in love with this girl.

My thoughts were interrupted by Subaru's voice, "We are here so do you mind helping?!"

When I open the door, we couldn't see the nurse anywhere. Subaru laid Shizuka on one of the beds. We didn't want to leave Shizuka here by herself while she is unconscious so we stayed with her. I found a paper on the desk n it read...

I'm on leave today, if you need me I'll be back tomorrow and you can find me here.

~Nurse

"*sighs* Too bad for us than, we'll have to take care of Shizuka instead."

Subaru turn to see me with a look of confusion on his face, "The nurse is on leave?"

«Subaru's view»

"Tsk, out of all the days the nurse could have come, she didn't come today."

I had this weird feeling that Laito is going to do something to Shizuka so I kept a close eye on her. I told him to get out but he refused, "How annoying, tsk."

"Eh? Subaru want me to get out because he want to spend time with Shizuka? Alone?" Laito getting annoying again.

Laito kept on teasing me, "It's getting very freaking annoying..."

I tried not to get mad if not I might accidentally wake Shizuka up. Trying to keep calm as Laito, CONTINOUSLY annoyed me, until I couldn't take it anymore.

"Shut up already! You know I don't like Shizuka! Why do you keep saying that I do?!" I was fuming mad.

"Okay okay, you don't have to shout, you know?" He still had that smile on his face, disgusting.

«3rd person's view»

Subaru's voice woke Shizuka up. Her eyes open slowly as she adjust her eyes to the surroundings. She could instantly tell that she is in the infirmary. She saw Subaru sitting by the bedside and Laito is resting against the wall. They noticed that she had woken up, Laito still have his smirk on his face and Subaru's cheeks were a little red. She stayed quiet as she didn't want to remember what happen.

​​​​​​"You feeling better, Shizu-chan?" Laito stood beside the bed that Shizuka was on.

"Ya, I'm alright." she tried to sound calm but Laito could tell she was feeling uneasy.

"Tell us what you remember..." Laito didn't make anything better.

"Um... The last thing I saw was Subaru and there was this pain in my left and I collapse. I remembered hearing music and I felt someone's hands around me..." Shizuka got up from the bed and hug her legs tightly.

"Someone's hands? Do you know who that was?" Laito STILL had that smirk on his face.

"I'm not sure, I didn't have enough strength to open my eyes before I collapsed so I couldn't see his face." she losen her grip and got out of the bed.

"Where are you going?" Subaru finally spoke.

"I'm going to class, it's only first day of school so I can't miss out any classes." she turn and left the infirmary.

"Aren't you gonna follow her, Subaru? She's in your class after all." Laito teleport to class.

Subaru caught up with Shizuka and now they are walking beside each other. Their were silence between the both of them as they walk down the hallway. Subaru look down at Shizuka, staring at her not even blinking once. She realize that Subaru is staring at her and it was awkward for her as no one has ever done that.

​​​​"Subaru, why are you staring at me?"

"Huh? I'm am?" just realizing he was staring at her the whole time.

A light pink spread across his cheeks as he turn to avoid eye contact with Shizuka.
