Chapter 1: Sleepover

"Dad, please can Maya sleepover tonight?" I beg.

"I don't really know, what does your mum say?" Dad replies.

"She said I could," I fib.

Auggie over hears me talking to dad and he shakes his head like he knew I was fibbing. I try not to make it obvious so I pull a really cheesy smile at him. But he knew the truth and that's that.

"Dad, can you give me a second. I need to talk to Auggie." I say walking towards his bedroom.

"Yea sure honey but why what happened for you needing to talk to him all of a sudden?" Dad says knowing something is up.

"Um... Well Auggie doesn't want me to tell you this but he is feeling..um.. stressed about first grade" I fib again.

"Ok honey well you can talk to him but if anything is really bothering him and you can't help it's best to tell a trusted, sensible adult like me" Dad says sitting on the dining room chair with his feet on the table, scoffing his face with tots from yesterday's dinner.

"Yeah sensible," I mutter under my breath.

I walk past Auggie's bedroom when I see the door shifting. I obviously knew Auggie is in there so I slowly tiptoe towards the door. Then I quickly jump into the bedroom and slam the door shut.

"Ha! Got you now Auggie!" I say mischievously.

"What do you want?" Auggie replies acting like he never over heard the conversation.

"Auggie." I say acting all nice (maybe too nice) "Auggie you are my favourite brother in the world so will you do me a big favour..."

"First of I am your only brother, second of all no I won't do you a favour" Auggie says.

"Yes ok , umm..well.. I will give you every candy I have from last weeks Halloween trick or treating." I say , hoping he says yes.

" OK!" He replies , then he walks towards his bed and starts jumping.
I leave Auggie to the crazy things he's up to and go back to the living room.

"Dad can Maya please have a sleepover tonight?" I say battering my eyelashes, doing the best puppy dog face I could muster.

"Ok, if your mum said its fine then it's okay with me" Dad says, still scoffing his face.

"PEACHESS!" I shout running into school.

"RILEY!" Maya shouts back confused.

"Ready for the sleepover on Saturday?" I say excitedly.

"Yes I am, but Riley the sleepover is the day after tomorrow, isn't that too late ? Oh who cares anyway?!" Maya says.

"Great!" I reply.

- The Bell Rings -

"Let's go into class" I say.

We got our sun shades on and linked arms. And walked into the classroom all cool-like.

-End of School-

"Hey ladies. I heard there is a sleepover. Am I invited? I mean with this cool hair how could I not be?!" Farkle says admiring his hair in a mirror.

Maya laughed, "You are not invited, this is a girls night only girls G-I-R-L-S ok?!"

"Maya don't be mean he's allowed! You're invited Farkle," I say, then I turn around and see Lucas staring at me (isn't he cute?!) "And you are allowed too Lucas".

"Hey what about me?! How come I'm not invited I'm the only cool one here! I mean you all walk through Riley's window like its a bus stop! Seriously I'm the only sensible Zay in the class!" Zay says.

"You are invited too Zay," I say.

"You all have to be girls if you want to come to the sleepover!" Maya says, then she pulls a really mischievous face. "You could dress up like girls."

"No Way!" Lucas and Zay shouts.

"I don't mind looking like anything if I can at least hang out with you two!" Farkle says all adorably.

"It's settled then, on Saturday at 7 O'clock come as girls and don't forget your pyjamas!" Maya says "now let's go it's been 10 minutes after the bell rang!"

When I arrive home I see my dad acting innocent and my mum holding an empty plate where the tots were.

"You ate the tots didn't you ?!" My mum says.

"No I didn't it wasn't my fault Auggie was hungry!" Dad replies.

"Hey mum, dad !" I say.

"Hey sweetie, how was school?" My mum asks.

"Good thanks, mum remember I have a sleepover on Saturday!" I say.

"Um..darling me, your dad and Auggie won't be here. It's parents evening for him, can I trust you ?" Mum says.

"Yes mum I'm old enough to look after myself!" I say.

"Ok then sweetie!" Mum says then she turns to my dad " on the count of 3 we will say what happened 1...2...3"

"I ate all the tots because I was hungry" dad blurted.

"I knew it!" Mum says.

--SLEEPOVER--

Ding Dong! I quickly run up to the towards the door "MAYA HAS ARRIVEDD PEOPLE!!!" I shout out in excitement.

This sleepover will seriously be one to remember...
