word count;; 1285.ellie thought that she was going to burst out crying. all she wanted to do was to crawl in her room and ball her eyes out whenever the smell of alcohol tickled her nose. with that one sent, she knew her father was drunk, again. she used to have great memories about her father whenever he was fine and actually normal. she let out a soft sigh and opened the door with the alcohol sent growing stronger and more addicting.
a fearful scream came from the kitchen and with ellie, she suddenly knew that the scream belonged to her mother. she pulled her sleeves up till they were over her wrist and with her jacket hood up hiding her brown curls. with another scream she then heard the sound of a human punching another human.
with that, she ran towards her room, closed the door, and locked it. she threw her bag on her bed mattress which was broken and on the floor with handcuffs connected to the frame of the bed. the top of the mattress was a huge pile of messy and disgusting blankets from a few days ago and which was probably the worst night that she could have ever have.
and when the worst of all/and when the blood runs stale
more and more smacks came from right outside the door, but she just sat in the corner of her room. it wasn't her first time her father came home drunk, but possibly the third time in a row. a different sent came from her bed, where her father would handcuff her to it and hurt her. her bruises were still there from the day and the day after that, and the day after that. it wasn't like him - it wasn't like him at all. he was a really kind father to her until he became unemployed for pulling a small prank on his best friend.
a slam came from the other side of the door with the screaming of her father and her mother. "sweetheart, please calm down." her mother told her father, with a dry voice and a scared voice with it. by this time, the blonde curls were touching her knees, which were close to her chest. more and more tears came running down her cheeks which made her eyeliner go everywhere from her floor to on her white jeans.
a black stain now marked on her knees from about fifteen minutes of crying from the screaming. she used to remember the sweet and kind memories of her parents kissing and caring about their only daughter, or their middle daughter at one time. about two weeks ago, her younger sister died right before her mother was about to give birth. her father always blamed her for the death of his younger daughter. all she did was come into my room that day and cried in my lap for the past few hours. the hours crawled by as she could still feel each tear from her mother that hit her shoulder. the moist water that ran down her mother's cheeks was the hardest thing she has ever been through in her entire life, but she had to stay strong for her.
but with the beast inside/there's nowhere we can hide
the yelling grew louder and the argument began about the most useless and simplest things in life, but her father was still blaming her mother for everything. a loud door slammed shut with her parents still screaming at the top of their lungs. all that ellie could do was just listen and not say a word. if she did get involved, she would've been hurt even worse then before. "just leave!" her mother finally screamed. with that, it became silent again.
the silence broke after a few moments with her father throwing a beer bottle at the wall, creating a terrible and horrible scream from my mother and a slam hit the floor. ellie's head shot up for a moment, showing her room her red and puffy eyes with the eye liner streaming down her face. a very strange silence filled the whole apartment and even her ears for the first time in a couple of days.
she closed her eyes and imagined a happy family - something that her family was never going to be. she knew that her mother wanted him to leave for her mother's safety and for her own. her door opened with her doorknob hitting the side of the wall. her father walked in with bloodshot eyes and sweat beating down on his forehead, probably from screaming so much, but her mother in no sight. "w-where is she?" ellie's voice finally spoke for the first time to her father since he became drunk.
"why do you care? your worthless, just like her." he said, tears streaming down his own face. "your mother never cared about you, and i never cared about you. you should have died like your younger sister did."
look into my eyes/its where my demons hide
by this time, he kept on going on and on about how she was a unwanted child and with her mother and himself not caring about her. even though she couldn't do anything, she just sat there and took all of the hate her father was giving her. "so with that, i'll leave you to suffer alone."
the sentence startled her more than any sentence would ever scare her. "what do y-you mean?" she said, her voice shaking more then ever.
"it means this." he said. his hand moved for the first time since he's been in the room with her. his finger moved down towards the end of his sleeve as his arm moved up, showing a pistol connecting to his head. "this is what you always wanted, huh? this is what your mother wanted you to watch. this is why your mother is d-" and that's when he pulled the trigger.
i can't escape this now/unless you show me how
her hands covered her mouth as blood shattered onto one side of her wall with her father collapsing onto the floor like a voodoo doll would if you dropped it. she couldn't help but scream under her own breath. many neighbors of the apartment complex screamed at the same time as the gun shot.
she couldn't tell because of how loud the gun was, but she couldn't move - not even her nose or her mouth to breath. its kind of like the world stopped moving as well as time stopped ticking.
"m-mom?" she said, in the lowest voice she could possibly do. she took the gun from her father's hand and got up from the corner. she made her way towards the kitchen and saw three empty bottles of vodka sitting on the dining table as well as a broken glass bottle he threw a few minutes ago.
"mom!" she screamed louder, but with a more scared voice then normal. she turned and ran into her parent's bedroom and watched her mother, sitting up on the wall with a knife stuck in her stomach. more tears then ever came streaming down along with her life. its like her life just drained down a sewage pipe and into the emptiness of the world.
her hand cupped her mouth as she fell to her knees right in front of her mother's body with her tears running more then they have ever before. but then she remembered that she could have saved both of their lifes if she would've said one word to them. the one word that would saved them both from dying - them both from killing themselves.
