Chapter 2

Adrià’s P.O.V.

She dragged me all the way to one of the subway entrances. I didn’t mind her pulling at my arm and guiding the way to somewhere that I didn’t know. She was something. I was surprised when she spoke to me in Spanish, it was actually refreshing. She was not what I expected. The cigarette had surprised me at first, and I was happy to learn that it was just a show. Zoe ran down the steps quickly and then made her way to the subway entrance and I followed her.

“Can I ask where are we going?” I said in spanish as she lead me through other stairs holding my hand tightly and lead me to one of the trains. The doors were beeping that they were about to close but she picked up the pace and we made it through before it closed.

“Yes, you may,” She said and the subway moved before she would grab on to something and she bumped straight into my chest. She started to laugh and then answered my question. “We are going here.” She said going through her purse and pulled out a piece of paper. I grabbed the piece of paper from her hand read it. It was a flyer to a party.

“A party?” I said trying to read the paper. Of course it was in English. It had a picture of balloons in a corner and in big letters the word party right in the middle. Zoe looked up at me with a huge smile. I couldn’t tell if she was excited to go to the party or not.

“Yes, we are going to crash it.” She said smiling at me and the train stopped and the doors opened. I saw a few of the people around us get up and leave and a bunch of others come in.

“You are really into this bad girl persona.” I said calling her out on it. When she turned off the cigarette in front of me, it made me think that it was just an act… now I am not so sure. It’s hard not being able to read her.

“Pretty much,” She said and I believed her. She reached up her hand to take off her ponytail and let her brown hair fell loosely around her face. She ran her hands through her hair to fix the mess it was now. She looked up at me with a wide smile and started to giggle.

“Are we going to get in trouble?” I asked and she just half smiled at me and then jumped.

“I hope not, and this is our stop.” She said quickly pulling at my arm again and guiding me out of the train and up the stairs again to the city. Zoe looked around the street as if searching for where it was we were supposed to head off to. “This way.” She said with the biggest smile in the world.

I wasn’t a big fan of girls leading me like this, or telling me where to go and forcing me to go. I didn’t mind it, but I wasn’t a big fan. Zoe was something different. I wanted her to lead me to something unknown. She was walking quickly and looking up the buildings searching for the right one. She would turn back to me very few times wanting to see if I was okay, and I would smile at her just letting her know that I was okay.

“Here we are.” She said and even from here you could hear the loud music from the the party. She opened the front door and lead me up the party. It was weird once we stepped into the party. We both didn’t know anyone and we looked at each other and laughed. It was weird how we just met, and now we’re in a room that we were the only people we knew. “Okay, this is weird.” She said and I was glad I wasn’t the only one feeling this way.

“Yeah, I know.” I said and she giggled.

“Let’s go somewhere more private.” She said and then grabbed one of the tequila bottles from the open bar and then lead me to the hallway.
