So I was thinking to myself "I should try at doing a one-shot" So now I'm doing one with a time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes. I'm writing with my own characters in this AU (alternate universe) I have for them. It's basically a dystopian future a large majority of my characters are part of. So the time begiiiiiiiins now.

Grape climbed the pile of broken concrete, leading into the plain gray building. The windows were shattered and jagged holes were in the brick walls, cracks running all over it. The roof was falling apart too. It looked like the building could collapse at any moment, but that didn't stop her. All she cared to find at that time was anything her large group could use. She was searching with another member of her group, Nyzonic. He was searching around the rugged structure.
When she entered the small building, it looked as if someone had completely destroyed the place. Broken glass, small rocks, dusty blankets, and other junk was scattered all over the uneven floor. Surely there's something in here to use, Grape thought. Her dark purple fur stood out against the dull colors of the house.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a staircase. It was made of a pale brown wood, and there weren't any walls to hide the empty space underneath it. A few of the steps were missing too. There was also a large open spot in a nearby wall in the house. It looked like the hole was what was originally in the house. beyond the entrance, there was more junk.
With a quick decision, Grape climbed her way over the junk to the open spot in the wall. There was more junk, but lots of the junk seemed to reflect light from the two small windows in the room. From what was still in one piece in the room, it looked like a kitchen. Taking careful steps, Grape went over to what looked like a door in the wall. With some struggling, she managed to open it. Inside the door, there were shelves holding things that could potentially come in use.
After some searching, she found a few small containers of food that hadn't expired yet and some other trinkets that could come in use. Grape put them into the deep purple sacks she had on her back. She left the pantry. Now she searched the ground of the kitchen, finding a few knives.
Once Grape had found enough stuff that could be useful to her group, she headed towards the stairs from earlier. Climbing over the junk across the floor seemed easier than when she first did it. She reached the stairs. Using her small wings to help her get across the spans with missing steps, she eventually reached the upstairs. It was all one big room and looked like an attic. There was more junk as she expected. The ceiling seemed to be sinking, likely due to being abandoned for so long.
There was what looked like a bed and a wardrobe, along with a shattered mirror. It was likely it used to be a bedroom up here. the floor was covered with what were most likely blankets and some clothing items. Grape begun digging through the blankets and clothes, searching for what could come in use for bedding and accessories. So far, nothing was appealing. Lots of it was torn apart, or just really dirty and dusty. Whoever was last here probably didn't want anyone making use of the stuff here.
She stopped to look over everything that was around. Suddenly, there was creaking. Grape flicked her ear and tried to find the source. It stopped. Probably nothing, She shrugged it off. With that, Grape continued searching. There was a muffled voice coming from outside. Then more creaking.
"Hm?" Her head turned around, becoming more wary of her surroundings. Nothing stood behind her. There was a feeling in her gut that something bad would happen, and soon. "Is anyone there?" Grape spread her small wings incase if someone did pop out and attack. The creaking grew louder. Quickly, she tried to find a window to jump out of. There weren't any windows.
The creaks stopped for a moment. Utter silence was all around. Her body tensed up.
With almost no warning, the ground began collapsing under her. Grape tried to run forward, but had no luck. Dust kicked up and flew all around. She couldn't see anything except dull gray. Loud screeches and the noise of the crumbling structure filled her ears. She closed her eyes, preparing herself for the impact of the debris.
She hit the rough ground under her, the debris jabbing at her belly. Moments later, the roof of the structure crashed down on her. The weight crushed her. All she saw was black. There was a scream of a familiar voice she could hear just above her. Noises of the rock and wood being moved almost flooded out the voice.
"Grape! Grape!" The voice cried. "GRAPE!" after a moment of being dazed, the name suddenly came back to her mind Nyzonic!

That was 795 words-nearly 800-In 1 hour and 15 minutes. Quite a lot I'll admit.
Anyways, I'll probably be doing another one-shot sometime soon. How well do you think I did?
