They soon arrived at a beautiful, intricately designed castle. Meghann thought it looked as if it had been poured out from above and settled into delicate spirals and towers. There was a proper guard leading to it and each one they passed bowed deeply to Seamus, but Meghann did not miss the wayward glances sent her way.

Seamus led them directly through meandering halls and into the throne room. As they entered, the monarchs turned to see who had so unceremoniously entered their chamber. As all this was under water, there were no air lock chambers for Meghann's comfort here.

'Oh, Seamus, how good of you to come, I was so worried...' the Queen trailed off as she took in Meghann at Seamus' side. 'So this is why I have felt so unsettled today.'

The Queen's tone became stony as she straightened up, her salmon colored tail twitching irritably. The King went to her side and laid a restraining hand on her shoulder.

'Seamus, please introduce us to your guest,' The King said telepathically to his son.

Meghann was clinging to Seamus' side, not sure how to stay still otherwise, she would have to tread water if she let go of him. And she wasn't sure she would be able to breathe if she let go.

'Mother, Father, this is Meghann, my imprinted mate that I have told you of for five years. She has finally come to us,' Seamus broadcasted to all in the room.

In the corner, a small commotion arose, drawing all of their attention. A merman with red scales and golden hair swam to the small group. Meghann stared at the image in front of her.

"Dad?" she tried to say out loud, but only succeeded in sending up a rush of bubbles. Focusing, Meghann thought, 'Dad?'

'Meghann, is that really you,' the merman asked as he reached for her.

Meghann flinched away. 'But you're dead. What are you doing here? Is this a dream?'

Seamus was looking between the two of them uncertainly. 'What is going on here, Destan?'

'I don't know where to start,' he broadcasted. 'I never thought I'd see my little Meggie again. I'm so sorry, Meggie. I only had fifteen years, then I had to return home. When your mother died, I did my best, but I would have died if I didn't come back. I left you with your aunt and uncle, I hope they've been good to you.'

Meghann clung tighter to Seamus, tears rolling down her face. He protectively curled his arms around her, glaring at all around them. 'What is the meaning of this? Father, did you know all along?'

'I had no idea the land creature you claimed imprinted on you was my most trusted advisor's daughter. I only knew that he had fallen in love with a landwoman and I was able to give him some time with her. Destan, you never told me you had a child. I would have tried to give you more time,' the King admonished.

Destan was at a loss, beyond happy to see his daughter, but distraught over all the time he had missed with her.

'Meghann is half Mer then,' Seamus broadcasted excitedly, 'there should be no reason we can't be mated now.'

'Meghann is your imprinted mate. The Mer should have no reason to go against you now. Destan is well respected. We will announce your mating immediately.' The King said happily.

'What are we going to do about her legs?' the Queen said, looking upon Meghann's legs with distaste.

'I'm partial to her legs, Mother, and possibly Father can work out a spell so she can change like we are able to.' Seamus could barely contain his joy at this good fortune. He sent only to Meghann, 'Does this feel any more right to you, now?'

'I am too full of new information to even know how to feel. All I know is that I would do anything to be with my father again, and if the small pull I am feeling toward you is any indication of how you feel, then I think that I could grow to love you.' Meghann sent to Seamus.
