chap 14

The rulers of the games were the top of every country. Each would specifically have people enter the games to control the flow of it. This allowed them to eliminate any upstarts from within the games as well as influence others. With the power to make 'accidents' happen, the games became that much more of an irreplaceable danger.

When the twins entered, the players were wary of them. It was not like many people came here of their own free will and even then, they usually were too scared to do anything. Yet, the twins were able to survive and whats more be scouted for by a powerful faction. They were literally untouchable. Ever since the twins entered, they had yet to lose a single match which meant that betting on the twins was a sure way to earn money. The games were losing money because. They and people outside managing the bets needed to show that the twins were not invincible. Thus began a series of assassination attempts for the twins lives.

Lets go back to when Shiro made Kuro agree to do the cleaning up for her. They went about their daily routine and a week later returned to the cleaning grounds. Every day, people would be brought to the games. They would arrive with a variety of items and that would range from the clothes on their backs, food and weapons. With too many people, calm feuer couldn't keep them in their territory so a cleaning up was held once a week. Whoever who survived continued to live, the rest were left to be stolen from before the bodies were cleared by the undertakers.

Shiro was humming again while sucking on a lollipop. News had spread that Kuro was going to be doing the killing. But with his way of appearing so dangerously, few came to see for themselves. Entering the cleaning grounds, people began to run. While cleaning up was a weekly thing, the day where the cleaner cleaned up was entirely up to them so no one was expecting the boy to enter since Shiro had been entering routinely, once every seven days.

"Eh? There's so many people here. Why weren't there as many people when Shiro came?" Shiro stood still and pouted as her brother stepped  in front of her. Nearby, information brokers tensed up. This was it, the moment where Kuro's weapon would be revealed. Kuro wore long black pants which had pockets sewn into them. From those, he drew a pair of guns. There was an unspoken command. The people in the area ran. Guns. That was what instilled fear into them. Kuro made quick work of them by shooting them all. Eventually, the numbers dwindled down and Kuro kept his weapons. There was minimal blood spilled on the floor and Shiro skipped forward the moment her brother was done cleaning. She was bored, even though the number of people had increased, there was still no challenge.

She was quite simply put, disappointed. She drew her knife and swept it to her right. Kuro narrowed his eyes, someone was trying to attack them. He saw it clearly then, the bullet heading straight for Shiro. Whoever it was, was going for the head. This was no amateur, they really wanted her dead. Someone wanted his precious baby sister dead. Quickly looking at where the bullet had come from, he spotted the area only to realise the culprit had already moved. Shiro would have figure out where it is already. Kuro saw a flash of light hitting the scope of a gun and immediately acted. Shooting bullets at his target. Now that he had seen him, he would not lose sight of him. The target stopped.

"Nii-chan, don't kill him." Shiro ordered. Kuro's only response was to dig his gun deeper into the guy's back. Shiro finished her lollipop and opened another sweet, popping it in her  mouth before throwing the wrapper on the floor. She knocked out the guy with a single blow to the head before Kuro dragged the guy away. Glancing back, she stared at a single spot before following her brother.

At that very spot, information broker, Torikku slid down from where he was hiding. How did she know I was there? No, there's no way she knew I was there. I'm a pro, he thought. He looked back at the cleaning grounds. People were already swarming the area for belongings. It was disgusting. Looking back, Torikku then realised how skillful the boy was. Torikku couldn't spot a single person who had more than one bullet would. That would mean that Kuro had hit every single person here dead with one shot. He didn't waste any bullets. That would explain the minimal blood splatter. This is probably the cleanest cleaning up I've ever seen, Torikku though before taking a long drag of his cigarette. At least, I'll have some good information to sell.

He got up, prepared to leave when he spotted the wraper Shiro left behind. For some reason, he felt compelled to open the neatly tied wrapper. It was wrapped around the lollipop stick in a bow tie fashion. On it , neatly scratched out were the words, 'I HEAR YOU'

For the first time in a long time, Torikku felt fear. Fear that his ability didn't work. Fear for the fact that he was scared...scared of a little girl.

Back in Kuro and Shiro's appartment, a certain person was tied up waiting to be questioned by the twins. In a room which was divided into black and white, he was tied onto a chair in the middle. Shiro stood at the black portion of the room and Kuro on the white side.

"So, Why did you attack us?" Shiro questioned and folded her arms.
