Chapter 4:I hate myself so much. Why? Why did I have to make out with Parker after he got dumped. He was the victim in this and he obviously didn't know what he wanted. He was heartbroken, and vulnerable. Parker Reed, wasn't in his usual state of mental health. And here I went having a heated make out in the break room with him. Great. And he's been ignoring my calls ever since yesterday night.
I stayed inside my apartment all morning, not making any plans to step out of my fluffy bed. It's all I need really. I don't have to leave. But then the despicable happened. My phone, which I left in the kitchen is now ringing. I groan, dramatically throwing my covers on the floor.
"Shut up! I'm coming!" I yelled at my phone. Once I reach for it, I answered without a single glance at the caller I.D.
"Minnie?" Oliver. I smack my forehead. The party! What will I tell him? I was half naked under Parker. I can't, he'll be disappointed or judge me. I'll just lie.
"Oh, freaking A. I'm so sorry, I- I was-"
"With Parker. Yeah," he sighs, "I know." I couldn't process what he said.
"How? When? Where? Huh?" Oddly, He chuckles.
"Rachel said you guys were still at the store. She said quote, 'They made quite a mess' and that you were there all night cleaning. It's cool though. I should've helped clean with you guys instead of leaving."
Rachel? Did she see?
"Y-yeah. Um, right. I'm sorry I didn't make it to the party."
"Yeah," he sighs.
"I can make it up to you," I rushed the words out before I could even process anything.
"Hmm. I like that."
"What do you want to do?" I ask curiously.
"..." His breathing silenced the conversation.
"Ollie?" He hums. He needs to speak or I'm going to hang up. I walk around my kitchen with my phone set down on speaker mode. Still waiting, I take out a bowl, milk, and cereal. As I set my bowl on the table the front door opens. Rachel comes in with a swooned expression.
"Ohmygod. Ohmygod. Oh. My-" She began hyperventilating.
"Spit it out woman!" I yelled at Rachel in zero patience for anyone this morning.
"It's Oliver he's just so adorable and nice and not to mention-"
"Rach," I tried.
"-he's just so hot! I love his personality too-"
"Rach." I widened my eyes.
"But yesterday. I was sitting at this party and he came up to me and danced with me! He was such a hot piece of meat."
"Um... Thanks?"
Rachel froze. I smacked my forehead in second hand embarrassment. Why, Rachel?
Rachel looked front the phone to me and repeated the process for another second. She covered her mouth and ran out the room."That was Rachel?"
"No. It was... Juan." I lied.
"Really, Juan? Wow. Just when I thought you were trying to make it up to me, you down right lie to me. I hope my disappointment is evident." I smiled at his overreacting self.
"Yeah, it's just as evident as Juan."
"Hey, leave Juan out of this, Minnie."
I laughed at our stupid conversation. What were we even talking about? Ooo right, that night. Great, awesome, terrific, what am I going to do about that? Should I tell Oliver or keep this up? Why do I even have to lie to him? He's my friend, he'll understand. Right?
