The girl walked home from school,
The girl tried to hide her tears.
The girl talked to her friends,
The girl tried to hide her fears.
The girl kept up the pretence,
The girl had been doing this for many years.
The girl walked home from school,
The girl tried but she couldn't hide her tears.
The girl laughed a long with the others,
The girl somehow felt enslaved.
The girl designed up a new life,
The girl suddenly felt artificially made.
The girl took her own picture,
The girl felt unfairly portrayed.
The girl couldn't keep up the pretence,
The girl felt horribly, ironically, beautifully betrayed.
