The ocean could seem endless to anyone involved with it. It was beautiful in a way. A single person could never explore the entire thing in one lifetime. One would consider it a very large change to go from an endless ocean to a thirty-six foot deep see through prison. A predicament Kai found himself in.

He had be trying to avoid a pod of orcas, being that the large animals would probably make a meal out of him in seconds. In his twenty years of life, Kai never would have thought these creatures would be running from something. They were top predators that could tear apart sharks if they wanted. That meant Kai had to do what ever possible to stay away from them.

He never meant a creature that walked on land. To be honest, he didn't really believe in them. There were rumors that his kind tended to take a liking to land creatures and tried to take them with them. Anyone that had come in contact with them, claimed they drown. So there wasn't really any proof.

The idea of living on land seemed impossible and land creatures just seemed to weak to survive. The creatures Kai saw now didn't quite fit the description. They were on some kind of floating object that made too much noise. Kai had seen them before, but not this close.

He couldn't really understand what they were saying, but something was wrong. They seemed wrong.

They were throwing spears at the straggling orcas. Kai dived out of the way, hoping to get deep enough to avoid the creatures.

The creatures. must have known what they were doing. They used something similar to the way dolphins hunt, but so much louder.

Kai covered his ears, but the sound went through the water, nearly knocking him unconscious. the same for the orcas.

It was to much. He needed to get to the surface. Anything to get away from this. The minute he got up to the surface, the creatures dropped down nets, forcefully yanking him out of the water. Kai tried desperately tried to get out, to no avail.

He could tear through the flesh of creatures he hunted, and fight ocean currents with no problem, but this what to strong to get away from.

"Fuck... Josh did you spike my drink?"

"...No... I'm seeing what you're seeing."

Kai was panicking, not understanding a word the creatures said.

"That's a fucking merman! We're going to be rich!" Jake shouted. They dropped Kai on the deck of the boat, without being gentle.

"Well if the boss doesn't pay well for this thing, someone will." Josh smirked.

The creature they dubbed a merman, backed up against the side of the boat.

"Tie him up. We don't want him getting loose."

Kai was strong, but out of his element. He had manged to knock one of the creates off of him as they were physically weaker, but in the end the managed to bind his hands behind his back.

"This thing is kind of cute. To bad he's not a girl. Probably sell better that way." Jake said looking the kid over.

"Doesn't matter. Put him in a shark box. They breathe water, right?" Josh was still seething about being knocked half away across the boat, but he wasn't about to hurt the cargo.

Two of the creatures picked him up, hauling him inside. Kai was struggling the entire time. He couldn't understand anything they were saying. The word merman came up a lot. Although he had no idea what it meant.

They threw him into what they called a shark box, and pushed him under the water. They then covered the top, leaving Kai in the dark.
