Sarah couldn’t really explain what was wrong because to be honest she really didn’t know what was wrong all she knew was that she was very scared and hoping that the news wasn’t about someone that was too close to her so in response to mums question she just gave her the phone and she saw the terrified look on her mums face, this made her smile a little bit because they were so alike and had the same reaction to everything. Her mums eyes widened as she read the message, she tried to process the information on the message “SHE’S DEAD” what did that mean, who was dead? And it was even more confusing because the message didn’t come from a registered number but from an unknown number, this all seemed like a mystery and they had to find out who was dead and see if it was someone that was very close to the family and even if the person wasn’t close to the family it was still a very big deal that someone died. Just as Mrs Smythe was about to ask Sarah if she had tried to call the number that sent the message when the landline started to ring, they both ran downstairs and Mrs Smythe picked up the phone knowing fully well that there was a 90% chance that the call was for Sarah and indeed it was a call for Sarah from Natasha who was one of Sarah’s closest friends in the neighbourhood and they usually went to school together every morning. Sarah sniffled as her mum handed the receiver over to her “hey Tash” it was so obvious Tash had being crying from the sound of her voice and this really worried Sarah because she would be devastated if the death had anything to do with any of Tash’s family members, she crossed her fingers as Tash spoke, she mentally smacked herself in the face for not guessing the message was from Tash at first because Tash always used block letters whenever she was trying to lay emphasis on something and she almost never used any form of punctuation whenever she texted anyone and that was like her signature, because you’d expect any other normal person to use basic punctuations like comas and full stops but Tash just never did. Her world immediately turned upside down when Tash said “it was Josh’s sister” she didn’t know when she dropped the receiver and fell to her knees, now she was crying, her stomach was wretching, her eyes had gone all blurry, she just couldn’t take this anymore… “this cant be happening to Josh” she screamed, now Mrs Smythe knew something huge was going to be happening, there was going to be an emotional disaster, Sarah just couldn’t deal with tragedy especially not when it involved someone she was close to, she just wasn’t emotionally capable of dealing with any type of tragedy, she was going to crash and shut everyone out…… Mrs Smythe really didn’t want this to happen to Sarah especially not at this point in her life.
I'm really sorry this chapter is really short, I'm hoping the next one is longer.
