All We Have (Janoskians Baby Sister)

5 Part 1

Skip POV:

Oh my God Oh my God what have I done? They gave me one task and that was to watch her and I turn my bloody back for 30 seconds and here she is choking.

"JAI, LUKE, GUYS GET DOWN HERE NOW!" I screamed for the boys while I ran over to the choking four-year old.  She was crying and gagging and the crying really wasn't helping with her breathing situation.

Luke came down first quickly followed by Jai who both came in with questioning looks until they saw Avi.  Luke ran over to her tiny body that was in my arms while yelling at me.  "What the fuck Daniel!? We told you to watch her, to make sure she doesn't do exactly this.  Was it that hard of a job to do!?" I looked up at my two best mates and saw the tears in their eyes and I didn't answer because I knew they were right.  I failed in protecting the little girl in Luke's arms that is like a sister to me.

"Jai call the ambulance.  She's not breathing."  At that moment all the tears I'd been holding back came out and I was crying like the baby I was. A stupid guy who couldn't do a damn thing right.

"They said they will be here in 10 minutes and to try to get her to breathe again." Jai said.

"Mate I don't know CPR and Skip isn't in any condition to do it either.  You gotta do it."  Luke told Jai while glancing over at me.

"Alright lay her down on the floor." Jai instructed and for the next ten minutes I watched as Jai tried to save his sister.

Jai POV:

Pump pump pump pump.... I counted thirty pumps on Avi's chest and than put my mouth to hers and blew. Exhale exhale exhale three times before I tried compressions again till the ambulance got here.

I glanced up while I was performing the compressions on her small frame and saw Skip in the corner of the room crying. The guy deserves to cry.  It's our own damn sister and at least Luke and I are doing something.  He lets her choke and does nothing but cry like a kid.

A large gasp and choking sounds filled the air and I looked down to see Avi breathing again.  Thank you God. At the same time the ambulance came and Luke ran to let them in.

A middle aged man and two women came running in to get Avi.

I stood to the side with Luke while we comforted each other and watched the paramedics put a breathing mask on Avi's face and strapped her onto the stretcher.

One of the paramedics came up to us, "Are you boys her brothers?"

"Yes.  Is she going to be ok?"  Luke asked him.

"Yes it seems to be.  Your lucky that she is breathing again.  It seems your CPR saved her life.  Well done son." The man patted me on the back and I nodded at him while Luke slung his arm  over my shoulder.

"Can we ride with her to the hospital?" I asked the man while watching the two woman pick up the stretcher with Avi on board and carry her out.

"Yes but only one of you.  Do you boys have another ride or a parent around?" 

"We're her legal guardians at the moment.  There's three of us and we're all eighteen and older." Luke told the man who nodded and wrote this down.  Luke turned to me, "You go with her.  I'll meet you there with Skip.  You should probably call Beau and I'm sure James will want to see her at the hospital too."  I nodded and followed the man to the ambulance and got in.

Avi had an IV in her arm and a new breathing mask on her face hooked up to a big tank which I assumed to be Oxygen.

I held her hand and pulled the few stray curls out of her face before kissing her head. I'm so glad she's ok.

I looked out the back two windows of the truck and saw Luke driving with Skip in the passenger.  I leaned back in my seat and sighed listening to the sirens as we sped to the hospital.
