"You're going to make it up to me."
The words that started it all. His drawl shook me to my core.
"What do you- I mean, ho-how am I making it up to you?" His smirk grew wider.
"I'll try to make it simple, Johnny boy. You're going to do everything I say." My brow furrowed in confusion. That sounded ominous....
"What's that supposed to mean?! Are you going to blackmail me into breaking the law?!" He laughed.
"Oh no honey."
"Then what...?" He looked over at his laptop and I stared at him. Suddenly my eyes widened as I understood the implications of his proposition.
"Oh, no. No no no. Hell no!" His smirk remained. "I'm not- I won't- I'm not going to- what the hell?!"
"I think you misunderstand sweetheart. You've put me in a... Compromising position. You're going to do whatever I say, or I'm going to tell Dave and your other friends about your little French mistake those years ago." My eyes widened and my mouth gaped. He wouldn't. He couldn't. I told Dave everything, I really did. Except for one thing. This one, one secret.
"You-you- you can't, please-" I felt my face pale and a tear fall down my cheek.
"No wait- kid don't, aw shit." In a moment he was holding me as I cried. "Fuck kiddo, I was bluffin'. I'm sorry, I was just tryina scare you, please don't cry..." I sniffled and tried to dry my tears. Bro being so kind had me shocked.
"I'm sorry, Christ it's just... I'm so ashamed." I pulled away from the tall blonde. "Sorry for snooping." I laughed without humor. "And f-for crying on you." I saw a tiny smile.
"Sorry for scaring you. Just... Don't tell Dave, arright? He doesn't know the... Extent of my enterprise." I extended a hand with a smile.
"I won't tell if you don't." He smiled back and we shook hands.
"You really need to get back out there. Poor lil shota is probably goin nuts out there." I chuckled and made sure my eyes were dry before walking to the door.
"Oh and John, one more thing." I looked back at him.
"Yeah mister strider?"
"I hope we can get to know each other better very soon."
Something about his statement sent a shiver down my spine.
---
"Dude holy shit, did you fall in?!" I blinked.
"What?" Dave rolled his eyes from the couch.
"You were gone forever. What the hell happened?" I stilled, knowing that Bro was probably in the hallway listening in.
"Just unpacking a little, I got distracted, sorry." He looked at me skeptically before shrugging it off.
"Whatever. Anyway, it's already nine thirty, wanna just turn in?" I nodded and we headed to his room.
As I trailed behind him, I saw a flash of pointed glasses just before the door clicked shut.
"I'll take the floor." I glanced at my bro.
"It's your house, I'll take the floor!" He groaned and pushed his glasses up his forehead.
"John, I'm tired. Now is not the time to be adorably selfless. Take. The bed." I giggled, rewarding him with a peck on the cheek.
"Aw, thanks Dave." He smirked and pushed me into his bed before settling down besides me on the floor.
"Night dork."
"Night poser."Sorry it's so short, I'll update again soon to reward you for the shortness.
