My Unnatural Disaster

So we Meet Again

After what happened with Sadie's me and Cayden didn't talk for months. I spent my time growing closer with Jordyn. Talking every night over face time. It was always purely platonic, but it was nice having a guy best friend. 

I threw myself into running and skiing, making friends on both teams, and spent all of my excess time focusing on maintaining my straight A grade point average and hanging out with my usual group of friends.

It was a very relaxed drama free couple of months. My friend Mia met a boy in karate and disappeared from our circle as she became quite attached to him, but overall there was very little drama that took place over this period time. Wonderful for me in real life, not very fun to read in this story. Hang with me for a sec, it gets better I promise. 

After months of radio silence on both ends I was sitting at home, curled up on the couch, my favorite book in hand one day late December when I suddenly received a text from none other than... Cayden.

"Hey" it said, "What happened between us? I miss talking to you?"

I was still pissed off at him so I replied "What your new girlfriend isn't enough?" 

Never the brightest bulb, but always sarcastic he replied " What?! I'm dating somebody?! Why Didn't you tell me? Ok seriously why wont you talk to me anymore?" 

This elicited a smile as I can appreciate good sarcasm, being a master of the art myself, but he wasn't off the hook yet  "Sadies?" I replied.

The read receipt  appeared under my message but the infamous three dots didn't appear until five minutes later. 

"I'm sorry about Sadie's I didn't know you were still into me I thought we were just friends and you'd take it as a joke" 

I processed this for a moment, I still didn't think that letting Paige humiliate me was ok, but if it was unintentional and he was owning it I couldn't stay mad could I? I didn't want to be the girl that held grudges and created drama in high school. I had been that girl all the way through middle school and it hadn't gotten me anywhere. Besides I didn't have to date Cayden, I didn't like him like that all forgiving him meant was gaining another friend and he had been a good one before the whole mess went down.

Finally I typed out " I guess I'll forgive you on one condition you have to read my favorite book. Deal? You humiliated me, now it's your turn to ruin your street cred and be seen reading in public:)"  

After an emoji of eye rolling the little bubble popped up with the words " Deal, I guess I owe you that. Have mercy please pick a short one!!" 

" I'll sleep on it" I replied with a smile on my face 

"Goodnight Case:)"

"Goodnight Cayden:)"
