Chapter 6--- A Thousand Stars on Sunset

The fog is getting thicker and thicker at tahimik na tinititigan iyon ni Zach mula sa labas ng bintana ng House of Secrets. Something is really not right. He thinks that his wife was right all along. Danger is coming their way. He can feel it in every fiber in his body. Zach scans the house. All of them are sleeping peacefully. He opens the room to their door at bolta boltaheng kaba ang nagunahan sa sistema niya. Aria was not in bed! Agad niyang binuhay ang ilaw. Only the crumpled bed sheet was there. There was no signs of Aria struggling.

Mabilis syang lumabas ng bahay na iyon at nagulat sya when the thick fog slowly settling down.

"Aria!" sigaw niya but it seems like he just shouted on the void of darkness on that forest.

Then he saw Chantele standing in front of the door. Her crumpled hair says na nagising ito sa kanyang ginawang pagsigaw. But her flat affect face was searching for something. At kahit wala itong suot sa paa ay lumabas ito at tumakbo. Zach doesn't have a choice but to follow her.

"Chantele! Why are you running? Did you know where Aria is?" he asked while he saw her running while searching for something.

Then they stopped.

Zach stood shock upon seeing Aria's body on the lake they just found on the middle of that forest.

"Aria!!" Zach hurriedly removed his unbuttoned polo shirt at inihagis iyon kay Chantele. He hurriedly swims to get Aria. Madaming katanungan ang nagsusunod sunod sa utak niya but his priority now is not those questions but her wife's floating body in the lake.

"She's ice cold!" nagpapanic ng wika niya. He can't remember the last time he felt so helpless. But he always feels like this whenever she's in danger.

"Let's bring her to the House."

"We'll get going first." Paalam niya sa kaibigan. Isang tango lamang ang sagot ni Chantele.

Binuhat na ni Zach si Aria at mabilis na nawala. Chantele stayed in the lake then without turning back her expression changed. It's the expression she have when using her fearful projection. It's the expression she never thought she will have again.

"Who are you?" she asked in the tone of voice saying she's in charge.

The consistency of water suddenly changed. It became so thick until it began to take its true shape. Chantele emotionlessly face it. It's a human figure. A female. And it looks mad.

Galit nitong sinugod si Chantele but its attack didn't harm her. Galit itong tumingin sa likod niya. It was Earl, he puts pagical barrier on Chantele.

Nang makita nito ang galit na mukha ni Earl ay agad itong nawala.

Agad lumapit si Earl kay Chantele.

"Are you okay?" conern na tanong nito.

"How's Aria?" balik na tanong niya ditto.

"She's fine.... But how could you carelessly run off without even wearing shoes? This is a dangerous place Chantele." Kalamadong wika ni Earl.

Chantele looks at the lake na ngayon ay normal na ulit ang itsura. Then she exhales.

Tamad na tamad na bumangon si Freya sa kanyang kama. Her hair is perfectly undone with no braided ponytails but it suits her much better even though it's all in different directions. She usually feels like this whenever Maesie is not around the Stronghold. Magiisip na naman sya ng ggwin ngayong araw. Since she's young ay puro training pa lamang ang ginagawa niya. Master Erus doesn't want to give her any missions. He always says when she's ready. And now she's really wondering kung ano pang ready ang ibig nitong sabihin. She knows herself! And she knows that she can handle any mission now if given a chance.
