OK so this is my first story on this account, it is a fanfiction of my FAVORITE book, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins! I do not own!

"Jax, go wake up Felix. I'm leaving early to go cut wood early before school."

I flutter my eyes open and see the silhouette of my older brother, Gant. Even in the dark you could see his bold features. Crimson tint brown hair that went up at one point, a muscled figure with a big frame. in the dark you could not see his eyes but i knew they were brown. When we were kids, when we used to play tag, and have fun, his eyes glowed. But after mom died and dad got hurt, he had to go work in the forest. Almost all boys are destined for the woods. Since we live in District 7. our product was lumber. And almost all boys just went to the woods to cut it down and ship it off to the other districts. My parents liked trees, and the fact that district 7 is so big,  Less chance of being a tribute that way. My heart stopped for what felt like a minute. The reaping was tomorrow. I had just turned 16 last week, Gant was 18, and so this was his last year being reaped. And Felix, my younger brother is only 11, just another year until his first reaping. i always get so nervous just thinking about the Hunger Games, the capitol is so cruel, thinking it was funny to watch desperate teenagers kill one another, just so they can go back home to their loved ones. Usually bearing scars and bad wounds. i remember watching one where the last two people alive both were fighting to the death, obviously just wanting to end it all, one's lips were somehow off, and the other was worse. The other only had two fingers on their right hand and their skin on their thigh was flapping back and forth like a door. I thought i would be sick. I forget who won. I choose to try to forget every Hunger Games ever created.

I finally was able to slowly crawl out of bed. i looked in the mirror, i was not strong like Gant, but i was pretty strong, i looked a lot like Gant, but i had blonde hair and blue eyes. i was quiet. And one time i tried throwing knives at a target i made in a tree, i aimed almost perfect every time, i tried making a bow and arrow, and i was okay, but knives were my true throwing talent. On one of my free times, i even crafted my own knife; it was wooden, but still pretty sharp. Sharp enough to pierce skin.

"Felix, get up and wash your face, its time for school."

i heard a mumble come from the bundle under some blankets.

"I mean it, we only have 20 minutes." i said again sternly

He finally sat up and rubbed his eyes, all of us look different. He has jet black hair, but Felix is pale with emerald green eyes. Felix has messy hair that sticks up in random places. But it suits him, he is a wild child. He is always so happy. Except for the mornings. He is always joking and his eyes, always twinkling. i ate some leftover meat from yesterday. We owned a meat shop, my father would cut and prepare the meat during the day, and right as we get home he opens the shop and i man the counter and trade with people, while my father rests or makes special orders. All special orders except for one. i make that one, i call it " Jax supreme"  it just normal steak, except for what i put on it, i season it perfectly, and even have my own secret spice. People love it, and i have to make it at least 7 times a day. After school Gant goes to the forest and chops trees until he is content with his work. We have all sorts of trees in District 7, common ones, Christmas ones, fine ones, and rare ones. We live near all sorts of trees, mostly common, but there are some fine ones, usually for furniture, and we have rare ones. Gant has been working a large tree, that we all expect to be fine. But he also works on common ones, just to help with the bills. i dressed in my school uniform and helped Felix with his. i quietly closed the door and Felix and i walked together to school.

"Better have fun at school today" said Felix mischievously.

"Why is that?" i asked.

Felix giggled and said
