Dylan's POV
Another day. Another time to study.
I knocked on Melanie's door a couple of times, but no answer. I take my phone out of my right pocket in my shorts to check the time. Where can she be at this time? I lean on her door patiently waiting for someone to open, otherwise I came pointlessly.
The door suddenly opens and I nearly fall on Melanie but manage to balance out and stand up straight, "Ahh there you are! You took quite a while" I cock an eyebrow as I rest on the side of her door and she looks rather captivated when her eyes go down my topless body.
"I see you like what you see" I smirk and send her a quick wink automatically interrupting her from her thoughts.
"WHAT? NO!... I mean come in?" She steps aside to let me into the house and she shakes her head after she realises how she reacted to seeing me topless, I however take it as a compliment. She makes her way into the kitchen and I follow her because I don't want to seem rude and wait for her in her room, plus I never saw the rest of her house.
Before I make my way into her house, I quickly pull my top over my head. I haven't realised it was off until she pointed it out and I kinda feel embarrassed I must admit. What if her mom opened the door and saw me. Maybe next time I'll just jog with my top on.
I enter the kitchen straight after her. A big kitchen I have to say. A massive white kitchen counter shaped in a L shape with another big square kitchen counter in the middle and dining table made from white wood on the other side of the kitchen.
"Want something to drink?" She asks me while she see's me looking around the kitchen, I turn around to face her standing in front of a massive silver refrigerator, "would be nice of you yeah" I say joking around since the weather is killing everyone. So hot I can barely breathe properly.
She hands me a glass of Pepsi with lots of ice in it, so I decide to sit on a red leather stool under the square counter. She's facing me with her back towards me because she's making some food, "You want something to eat?" she asks politely.
"Erm, no. I'm good, thanks." I say in response, picking my head of the counter to look at her. She's wearing hot pink shorts and my eyes can't help but linger on her butt a little longer than they intended to.
Her head turns back to meet my eyes and I fake cough, "home alone?"
She nods, "yeah, parents went to my cousins birthday party." She says as she's pouring boiling water from the kettle into her pot noodles.
"How come you didn't go with them?" I ask and she sits down on a stool opposite me, "I had to study" she says and mimes quotation marks with her hands, "ooh turning bad aren't you?" I tease.
She shakes her head and smiles back at me whilst holding a fork full of noodles in her hand, "I don't get along with her. We used to like each other, well more like grow up together, spent every single day together, but I guess we just grew apart as time went by. She was playing at something she never was and never will be" she finished talking and something told me she was kind of relieved by the fact she told someone.
I don't know what to say simply because I can't relate to that, I'm just thankful something like that didn't happen between me and the boys, "What exactly was she playing at? And you don't have to answer if you don't want to, I'm just interested now that you've started talking about it...Sorry if I'm being too personal, didn't mean to" I cut myself off before I offend her.
"Oh no, you're alright. We just started hanging out with different people, I simply hung out with the people that believed in me, helped me become successful and tried to help me grow as a better person, she on the other hand hung out with the complete opposite people, you know the people that are 'fun' to hang around with but get you into trouble all the time. She changed a lot and sometimes was even jealous of me after I told her what me and my friends have been up to."
