The First Reported Case

Cause of death: Three slashes to the head, all two inches deep. Body covered in black and blue bruises.
Witnesses: None

This certainly wasn't the worst case I've seen before but it's definitely something.
I went to the forensics lab to check out the body. All I can say is that this poor girl suffered a long painful death. "What a shame. For such a gorgeous human to meet such a traumatic fate." I turn around and see one of my closest friends working in the DSA.

"Kate!" I exclaimed as I ran towards her. "I thought you were on a vacation in Greenland?"

She let out a sigh. "You see these three slashes around her skull? These are a trademark. I've been studying these cases for a while." She opened her file and took out multiple photographs. After a while I realised that these were photos from other post mortems. All with the same three slashes in their head. Blood pooled around the victims as they lay there. Eyes wide open as if they were still suffering the same gruesome fate.

Noticing that I was disturbed, Kate took the photos away from my line of sight and began examining the body.

Piece by piece she removed and placed bits of clothing and DNA into a ziplock bag. Saved for closer examination later.

Jessica looked quite dainty. She was a small petite lady who seemed like she had lots of potential for the future. I wondered what she must've been like. Then I thought to myself, is there a link through these couple of victims?
