*Hey Guys! I'm DeepCoil and this is my first book so, tell me what you think of the first chapter!*

"Jonah! Will you git' in here and clean this up?", Miss Belle said.  "Yes ma'am." Jonah replied as he hurried into the manor's grand room. Jonah was a steward for the Belle family. Miss Belle, her husband Mister Belle, and their son, Rodney, lived on Mister Belle's sugar plantation in Georgia. Miss Belle had fair blond hair, and a strong Southern accent. She was strict, "needy"  as the housekeeper Mae Thompson would call her. Her husband, Mister Belle, was a kind man, with mahogany hair, and blue eyes. He had respect for each and every one of his workers, he regulated when and where his overseer could use his whip. The overseer, Michael Peren, watched over the plantation's slaves. Michael was a man who kept to himself, and tried his best to keep all of the slaves in order. The son of the Master and Mistress, Rodney, was a short child, skinny, and he often played in the fields with his best friend, Dante. He walked down the stairs as Jonah walked into the grand room and cleaned up his mother's spilled tea. His mother, as prim as could be, often preferred Peach and Ginger tea, with a note of honey. Mae Thompson was the only servant she would allow to make her tea. His mother believed that if anyone else made it, the flavor would go away. Rodney smiled at this and never to this day understood why this was. Mae Thompson hurried in to replace the spilled tea.

Rodney sat down in the parlor and felt the velvet armchair his father had bought underneath him. He saw his mother sip her tea, and look up at him. "Hello sweet pea!" she said with her accent. "You been playin' out in those fields all day! Must be tired." ."I'm fine Ma. When's Uncle Maxwell gonna be here? He said he wants to give me somethin'", he said. "You're not bein' greedy now are you? Uncle Maxwell is comin' all the way from Mississippi! When he gets here I expect you greet him and welcome him in. If he does have somethin' for you, he'll give it to you when he feels like it." . Rodney replied with a sigh," I aint' bein' greedy, I just like receivin' stuff. Im goin' out to play with Dante. Ring the dinner bell when Uncle Maxwell gets here." "Honey, you know i dont like you playin with that boy. Mister Peren will tell me if you get in trouble and that'll be the last time you see Dante, you hear?". "Yes Ma." , and with that he ran out to the slave quarters where he looked for Dante.  But he couldn't find him. He shrugged it off and decided that his friend was out working. He walked over to the big willow tree and sat down beside it. Soon Uncle Maxwell would be here.
