[Chapter 3 - Hanging Out With the Enemy]

Your POV

I appeared in the school track and field and tried not to make eye contact with anyone. I saw the groups of students just talking about what the event was. Bringing my head low,I walked until I bumped into someone. I looked up and saw it was Smoker.

"[Y/N], what did you do this time?" He asked. "Uhhhhhh something?" I answered. Smoker sighed and looked stright into my [E/C] eyes. "[Y/N], I know it's you who caused the fire. You're just always like that ever since you were 10 years old. So what did you did this time?"

Smoker had always been like this to me. I remembered my first time when I couldn't control my devil fruit power.

FLASHBACK

It was the first day of elementary school and it was also the day when I figured out I had a devil fruit ability.

"Now [Y/N], make sure you make friends at your new school." The 19 year old Smoker said while being in front of my school."HAI!!" I with a cheer."Good girl, now behave." Smoker smiled then pulled me into a hug.

TIMESKIP

Smoker recived a phone call while studying. "Hello are you [Y/N]'s Gurdian?" My teacher asked. "Yes I am." "Can you please come to the school's office please? It's an emergency." With that Smoker ended the call and rushed to the school.

He found me sitting on a chair with scientists and polices around me. "S-S-Smokey... " I cried. "[Y/N] seems like she has a devil fruit ability. When playing with her new friends, one of the bullies pushed her friend down it made [Y / N ] mad. There was a fire that was happening at the same time so [Y/N] used smoke and tried to take down the bully. " My teacher said as she recalled the accident.

Smoker looked at me with shock. " It would be better for her to be home schooled than to actully go to school for her safety." Smoker nodded at my teacher and took me home early. "Smokey..." I asked. "Yes what is it [Y/N]?" Smoker replied. "What's going to happen to me?" I asked with fear.

He looked at me with with an unsure face but answered my question with his best." Good thing will happen to you [Y/N]. You will make friends than at school and you're going to have a great experience." Smoker smiled at me. Then I smiled back at him.

Throughout the year, Smoker worked hard for my education and to look for a job that can prevent us from poverty. It wasn't that long until he became a police officer because of his devil fruit ability when I was 12 years old. (You're 17 years old right now0

I was smart for a kid like me. With my IQ being 189, I was considered bring the smartest kid in the country. While being home schooled, Smoker trained me on how to use other people's devil fruit ability. He also allowed me to meet some of his co-workers who also uses their devil fruit ability. Training with them and Smoker was the best parts of my life.

Killer's POV

Kid's injuries wasn't really that bad to be honest. Law checked on him ( because he is actually the nurse which actually sucks),and said "Well he should be fine by 1 week" which I don't belive. I brought Kid back to our room and laid him down on his bed.

I looked out the window and saw the students coming back in the academy, resuming class. Then there was an announcement.

" Can Eustass.Kid and [L/N] [Y/N] come down to the chairman's office. Classes are to be resumed after 3 minutes." Kid stood up from his bed and started walking out the door. I hope you're okay Kid....
