~Mila~
"I've been what? Get a grip Aaron." I pushed him away playfully in an attempt to lighten the mood.
It totally failed because he looked totally serious.
"I'm sorry Mila, this was not the way I was hoping to explain everything to you. The fact that you have been claimed lets me know that your wolf gene has been activated because otherwise he wouldn't be able to smell and mark you as his original mate."
His words made me fret for his sanity. "Aaron, you are freaking me out, what are you talking about?"
"Just look for yourself Mila, this is not a hickey." He turned the rear mirror so I could see my neck. A beautiful tattoo with markings I wasn't able to understand adorned my usually flawless skin. It flowed from the back of my ears to my collarbone and had different arrays of colour. I saw black, blood red and several shades purple.
I saw a crescent moon and something resembling a wolf, but it was done in such an intriguing way with so many details that it was not very obvious.
"What the hell?!" I yelled and almost yanked the mirror of the car in an attempt to see the markings better.
Aaron was just as interested as I was. "It's a huge mark Mila, so your mate has to be a very high ranking werewolf. I have never seen such a tattoo of this size and intricacy. He has to be an alpha or otherwise an extremely powerful beta from a mighty bloodline."
I didn't listen. The symbolism in the markings were absolutely mesmerizing. I had always wanted a tattoo but never had the guts to do so, this one was just exquisite.
Then it hit me. Aaron had talked about werewolves, mates and claiming. And he hadn't lied, I could always tell if he lied to me.
"That's why you never contacted me." I whispered. "You wouldnt be able tell me the truth so you knew I would have immediately known you withheld information from me and become my nosy little self."
He nodded. "I'd rather be a dick then violating the gag order and hurting you in the process."
Well done captain subtle. I said with a hint of sarcasm. I didnt want to talk about werewolves or whatever funny business he was into, I just wanted to talk to him. My anger seemed to have vanished the moment I saw him.
He gave me his crooked smile. Did I mention I am really, really sorry for not contacting you? I missed you so much Mila. I need you to come with me, we will leave for New York today. I already brought my stuff.
When I looked into his puppy eyes I moaned and held my hand in front of his face so I wouldnt see his pleading eyes. No fair Aaron, not the puppy eyes! You know I cant stand those, Im powerless against them.
He laughed and gave up. My almighty weapon against Mila Lowell.
We have been sitting in the car for a couple of moments and just randomly talking about what is going on with me and I was just not trying to think about the werewolf thing when his phone rang.
Yes Alpha? He said into the phone. Yes, I have just picked her up. He paused. No sir, enforcers will not be necessary, we are just about to leave the parking lot.
Silence again but I could feel Aarons annoyance. Yes sir. He all but growled. And then hung up.
Fuck. He cursed and then looked at me. There are enforcers coming to escort us to the pack house.
I looked at him in confusion. What does that mean?
I means that we need to find your loverboy and hope he has brought back up. This might get ugly.
