I wondered why this boy wanted to hang out with me.

Nobody else did.

Why him?

He told me to meet him at the public park that was near my house today.

I agreed to meet him there.

I found out something about him via message.

His name was Phil.

It was a nice name.

I am supposed to meet him there in 15 minutes.

I decided to leave now, slightly early, before my dad accidentally wakes up.

I lock the door behind me and begin to walk to the park.

To my surprise, there was many kids here, despite this chilly weather.

I guess kids love the snow.

I agree with that.

Snow is nice.

Calming.

And winter means that you can stay inside and enjoy cuddling and hot coffee, while watching silly movies and counting down the days until Christmas.

Unfortunately, I don't get to do these things.

I have nobody to cuddle and drink coffee with.

Nobody to watch movies and count down to Christmas with.

Because I have nobody, and my home is a wreck.

It's messy.

It's depressing.

We don't own silly movies or a coffee machine.

I realized that I had arrived at the park quicker than I had assumed, while I had all of those thoughts in my mind.

Phil was there.

He was sat on a bench.

Fiddling with his gloves.

His skin was so pale and soft looking.

He's incredibly precious.

He saw me approaching him, and he stood up slowly.

He wrapped his arms around me for a hug.

I hugged him back.

I hadn't had a hug for years.

He was warm.

I enjoyed it.

"Hello," I said softly.

"Hello Dan," he replied, a warm smile across his face.

He's so kind to me.

I enjoyed this feeling.

"Let's go somewhere warmer," he stated.

I approved of his idea.

He slowly intertwined his fingers with mine.

I couldn't help myself but to blush.

I looked down at my feet, as we walked, making small talk.

He took me into a library.

It was a beautiful library.

It was warm, and had many couches.

He told me he'd be right back, so I took a seat on a comfortable 2 seated couch by myself as I waited for him.

He came back, 2 hot cocoas in hand.

He handed me one and I took it, enjoying the warm feeling on my hands as I took my gloves off.

"Thank you," I told him.

"No need to thank me," he beamed.
"How are you?"

I winced slightly at the question.

"Good, considering I'm here in a warm environment with a warm human being."

I gave him a huge grin, something I don't do often.

He grinned back at me.

His smile was beautiful.

We talked for ages and ages while sitting and enjoying each others company.

After a few moments of silence and hot cocoa sipping, I proceeded to ask him a serious question.

"Phil?"

"Yes Dan?" He said, looking me in the eyes.

"You're so kind to me. Why?"

"What do you mean, why? Everyone deserves to be loved and cared for."

"Nobody ever treats me the way that you are right this moment. Everyone pushes me away and doesn't want anything to do with me. I've been wondering what it feels like to be cared for, for even the smallest amount of time. And right now, I feel it. And it's feels... right."

At that moment, he looked at me with a look that I have never seen once in my life.

And he told me something that I haven't heard in forever.

"Well guess what? I care about you, Dan."
