He knew himself as a way smarter person than those jobs required it to be, but even so he didn't get them. He faced his third interview in a row that week. Maybe it's my baby face, he wondered. The lady from the human resources was staring at him for far too long and the word awkward was beginning to show as the perfect feedback to be written in her clipboard. Her question still looping in his head. "What IS your best quality?"

"My biggest quality is that I have my comebacks at the tip of my tongue so I don't think about them at the shower eight hours later when it is too late to make your mark on people!"

But if he went for that more job interviews would follow. It was time for him to understand the rules. Play the game. Bills needed to be paid.

"I'm a great team player!" and he smiled.
