I clenched my teeth to conceal the ongoing groans that continued to escape my lips. Percy leaned over me, eyes fixed on my torso with determination as he wrapped cloth around my bullet wound.
I remember when I first met him. Awkward, yes, but I felt a connection to him, like I do now.
I raised my left hand a little a brushed my fingers onto his to get his attention. He flinched, but turned his head with a sympathetic smile. Not like the sympathetic smiles you get when you just did something embarrassing or your pet just died, but a smile that tells you that they care.
"Hey." He whispers. HI smile when he brushes my face with his hand. "You alright?"
His hand touches my lips momentarily before he looks away.
"What is it?" I ask. He ignores me, not meeting my gaze as he returned to bandaging my stomach wound.
"Percy. Whats wrong?" I repeated.
He sighed and turn to me, leaning close so his nose almost nuzzled mine.
"Do you remember what he did to you?" His voice cracked.
My lips quivered. "He-touched me."
I saw Percy's jaw clench as he inhaled and went back to my wound, again not meeting my gaze. "Did he-"
"No. He-well.. tried to."
Percy seemed to relax a bit. "Oh." He tightened the bandage before laying down beside me. He let me lay my head on his chest. I breathed in a steady pace as his uneven breaths made my head go up every time he inhaled.
"Percy?" I whispered.
"Yes?"
I closed my eyes. "Did he say anything before leaving?"
Hesitated. "Yes."
I lifted my head to look at him. "What did he say?"
Percy sighs as he gets up and walks to the door. I frown. He's opening the door.
"You've been asleep for a day now, and a lot has happened." He says.
I furrow my eyebrows. "What kind of things?"
He releases the handle to the door and walks back to me. He then leans over me and brushes my lips with his, but I push him back.
"Percy, answer my question."
He sighs. "Annabeth, something happened to the kidnapper, he never came back. I can't exactly see through the cracks in the door but I'm pretty sure he was shot."
My eyes widen. "Are you sure?"
He nods, like he has something else to say. "Annabeth, look through the cracks in the door. If you had to guess, what would the time of day be?" Percy asks.
I move my head, looking at the door. Orange color is visible where I can see it.
"Um... day?" I say, confused.
He sighs and gets up, walking towards the door. "But Annabeth, that's exactly it. It's been "day" all-" He fumbles for the right word. "Day!"
I scrunch my face. "What are you even talking abou-" I gasp. "Woah."
I look at my wounds and stand up as the color of the blood seems to rinse off as I stand up.
"Percy? What's going on?" I ask, looking at my shirt, which seems to be gone of blood. I already feel stronger as I walk towards Percy, who looks confused and shocked.
"I-don't know." He stutters.
"It must be some kind of illusion. But, how would that make me feel better also?"
He shakes his head. "No idea. But at least you feel better?" He suggests.
"I guess, but it's kind of creeping me out."
My words cut short when I hear a bang outside the doorway. Like, lightning. Bang. Another lighting strike.
Bang. The door flew open as we jumped to the side. Percy looked at me before walking next to the door and-
"Oh my god."
I ran to get next to him ,gasping at what I saw.
