CHAPTER 5
THE WITCH IN THE HUT
It was an alarming, stormy day at Eluda, as the castle’s soldiers, one by one, are quickly deployed around its four corners as a concerned citizen roaming around the forests of Mt. Mifa saw the enemy’s flag towards the kingdom’s direction . All people were shutting their doors to close and the people around the streets are starting to diminish as they went home for hiding as ordered by the king.
“Cover all parts! No one shall pass! Defend the kingdom! Be vigilant! No whatever shenanigan or whatsoever devious trick of Mytopia must carry on!” Cavalier Mortgane shouted as he walks back and forth in front of his soldiers. “No one must startle at the first sight! We are armored enough and all are well taught with charms and spells. We have learned the enemy’s movement thus, we shall be confident on this battle.” He instructed.
The storm went to surge as a troop of well armored knights with a flag having three circumscribing circles and a lion in the middle as a logo, are fast approaching the fields underneath Mt. Mifa. As they went near, several incantations by the castle’s shamans are shouted creating a force field, around Eluda. “ Retauraus!” said one and vine of thorns came closing the gapping space. “That could keep them busy at the moment. Men, be ready to equip!”
“Leggado!” Stressed by the knights while gripping their own wands, and hundreds of bows and arrows as well as swords, axes and shields came bellowing their hands. Several are aiming and others are waiting for the enemy to penetrate.
“ Charge!” said by the Mytopian Leader as they came bustling at the last stone defense of the incantation. The moment they entered, several arrows came flying in and many were heavily wounded immediately. Cavalier Mortgane’s battalion gushed the nearing fiend and swung all of their weapons against the other. All were kept busy by their opponents and several spells came shooting on both ends.
Because of the surprise attack and given the fact that they are outnumbered cavalier Mortgane’s troops were lessened as one by one each men fell down. They were pushed back to their lead and they are now heading for the town where many are kept hidden. “We meet again Mortgane” a low voice spoke while everyone is battling.
“Run to your expense, and tell to the king your defeat!” A man wearing a black cape with a muscular body and a flaming fist, mocked while flickering his wand and shooting missiles of fire to every Eludan knight he passes through. “I won’t back down! Silderstein” Mortgane arrogantly said with wounds on each arms and wand pointing to the perpetrator.
“How dare you!” the Mytopian leader whispered. Silderstein shot fireballs to Mortgane and he reciprocated with icicles to counter the attack. Silderstein clapped as he sarcastically applause the knight, “Nice go, but a weakling move to do.” “Shall I try again?”Mortgane said while running to his right, twiddled his wand, equipped a freezing arrow and shooting Silderstein but he missed.
The Mytopian head knigt casted a flaming lasso that caught the left arm of Mortgane. On the other hand, Mortgane shot a stalactite that froze the right leg of Silderstein preventing him to move. Silderstein defroze his leg while pulling the lasso and shoot a blast of fire to Mortgane’s hand causing him to let go of his wand. That moment, Silderstein took aim of Mortgane and shouted “Skarra!” that caused his wand to shoot a flaming phoenix that is set to take the life out of Mortgane. The head knight put his right arm near his face then a blinding light appeared with the words.
“TOTEMIA MORGATA!” two giant golems kneeled in front of the knight in defense; they blocked the coming spell and reflected it to the caster. It was Old Prukel being at the nick of time as it matters the most. In a flash, “Flianum Desca!” Professor Beaumanor casted a levitating magic on Silderstein and held him up in the air for the moment. All the Spell Presidium’s council members together with the Cenbari’s professors are out to defend their kingdom. They used their wands and staffs to finish off all the remaining Mytopian knights while their leader hung up in the air.
