Chapter 5

"What are we doing here, Daniel?", Kate whispered as she looked at her surroundings. One month has passed ever since her prince stayed with her. A month since Jade went home. They were at the beach at Greece. Kate bit her lip as she observed the place. The pictures weren't exaggerated. Greece really is beautiful. The waters were clear. And you could see the corals. And the skies.. Oh! The sky was painted with the colors varying from pink, orange, blue and purple for it was close to sunset.. It was so beautiful! She smiled at the view.

"Daniel..", she whispered as she felt his arms wrap around her waist.

"I always listened to you. I never forgot anything you ever told me about you. You think that i'm just like every other guy who pretends that they are listening but they aren't. I remembered you telling me that you always wanted to experience the beaches in Greece but never had the time to do so..", he said and smiled. "Did you remember what you told me that you wanted to do at a beach like these?"

Kate bit her lip and shook her head, no. She heard her prince chuckle as he unwrapped his arms around her.

"Don't turn around unless i say so.", he said. Kate nodded.

"You told me that someday you want a guy to take you to a beautiful beach in Greece where there's only you and him.. Turn.", Daniel said. Kate turned around and her breathe hitched in her throat. Daniel was kneeling on his one knee in front of her, pinched between his pointer finger and his thumb, one beautiful ring. One she wanted for so long. Daniel smiled at her reaction.

"And you told me that you wanted that guy to propose to you..", he said and her eyes opened widely.

"Don't worry, Kate, i'm not gonna propose.", he said and chuckled. Then his expression became serious.

"Kate, I love you. It may be hard to accept but I have never met a girl who understands what i'm going through so much. I've never met anyone who didn't want to be with me for the money or the crown. I've never met someone who accepts me as i really am. One who knows me and still chooses to be with me. One who chooses to be by my side even if the whole world is against me.", he took a deep breathe. "Kate, you're that girl who i see all those qualities from. And because of them, i have fallen in love with you and fallen hard. I love you, Kate. I really do.", by this time, Kate has tears in her eyes as she gazed down at this man with all the loving in her eyes. Right then and there, she figured out the answer to the question that kept bouncing in her head in days already.

"So will you do this simple man the honor of being his girl?", he asked. The fear of her saying no shone through the prince's glassy eyes.

"YES!", Kate said as she nodded and smiled at her prince, filled with happiness, tears of joy rolling down her cheeks. Daniel jumped up and enclosed her in a tight hug.

"Thank you for making me this happy, Kate.", he said as he held her. She wrapped her arms around him too.

"My saying no wouldn't have changed it though. You would have forced me.", she joked. He laughed as he withdrew from her and slid the ring to her ring finger.

"It suits you well..", Daniel said and held her chin and made her look at him. Then he lowered his head and pressed his lips against her soft ones. He pulled back after awhile, stroking her cheeks.

"I love you, Prince Daniel Dwayne Scott.", she said, gazing into his eyes.

"I love you too, Tiffany Kate Sangster-Scott.", he replied, smirking. Kate laughed but she didn't protest.

And just like that, the heir and the prince was in a relationship.

A few miles away stood Jasper, his jaw clenched tight. HOW DARE HE ASK HER TO BE HIS GIRL?! SHE WAS HIS! And he will have her. By force or not. How could he? He knew! He knew he liked Kate! How could he have betrayed his bestfriend?!

Jasper's fists clenched as he watch them hug and held one another, gazing at the sun as it vanished in the horizon.

Back at the US though, one month is fast enough to cause havoc in the hospital where Jade and Piper is as Piper went through labor. Jade gritted her teeth as Piper gripped her hand waaaay too tight. She said encouraging thoughts as Piper suffered, tossing on the hospital bed.

"Let me take her hand, Jade.", Mac said as he gazed at Jade, concerned.

"No, Mac, i can take it. Where's Maku? Tell him to make an appointment with our family doctor.", Jade said, looking at Piper. Suddenly, nurses burst into the laboring room and took Piper to the delivering room.

Later then, the midwife emerged from the room and told them that Piper is okay and that the baby is a healthy baby boy. Jade let out a breathe she didn't know she was holding when the midwife approached them. They were told that the baby is in NICU. Newborn ICU and that the mother have been put to sleep.

Earlier as Piper gave birth, Maku called to inform Jade that their family doctor have agreed to do a DNA test on the baby. Unfortunately, not today since the baby is still sensitive for it is newly born.

"Why do a DNA test, Jade? Are you still trying to find out who the baby's real father is?", Mac asked her as they walked to NICU.

"Yes.. And i need you to do a favor for me.", Jade said.

"Sure, what is it?", Mac asked, feeling curious. No matter how much of a genius he is, he can never figure out what goes on in Jade's mind.

"I need you to take a DNA sample from this men.", she stated and handed him a paper with 2 scribbled names. "You are close to them right?", she said.

"Yes. You want me to take a strand of hair from them, right?", he said, smiling now as he figured her train of thought.

"Right. Do it within a week. Can you?", she asked.

"Sure, i can.", he answered.

"Thank you, Mac!", Jade said and smiled at him. Thoughts of what the DNA results might reveal swirled in her head. She can't wait!

She watched the baby sleep before the nurse let the curtain fall and she couldn't see him no more...
