AUTHOR'S NOTE
On cancer. Yep. That's it.
_______________________________________________________________________________
When it hurts so badly you can't even get up,
When you know you're despondent and bound to give up.
When neither people nor things can make you smile,
And everything around you makes you woeful and vile.
When the loss of being alive comes thundering at your doorstep,
When your pool of tears leave you miserable at best.
When you put on your face to try and fight with all your might,
When your heart equips you with reassurances by saying, "It's alright."
So when you actually get up even though you're hurting inside,
When you look for warmth, support or help in lieu of trying to hide.
The dictionary defines 'life' as the state of living beings,
But how can you be alive when you know you have a fatal disease?
