3- Last Monday! Part 2: Chocolate Brown Cafe

When Jack and I arrive to the cafe Brooklyn and Drew are already there eating a cheesecake and coffee, there's not sign of my girls but I see a third coffee glass, weird. We go and sit with them while they come.
- Hey! - Jack calls them and do the men's strange salute-hug that only men understand.
- Nervous dude?
- Little bit Drew.
- What? You're nervous? We're just planning boy - Brook says laughing.
- Hey Brook shut up because you were that nervous too when we were planning your date with Lou.
- Yeah you're right, sorry mate - He say now to Jack punching is shoulder.
- No problem pal - Do they have a problem with the friendly nicknames?
- Hey Jay sit, you won't grow up anymore - Did I already mention that Brook is the joker of the gang? I can't help but laugh with the boys at Brook's joke.
- Oh shut up Brooklyn. Anyway, why do you have a third coffee glass?
- Oh, Lou went to the restroom seconds before you arrived, she might be coming back right now - Drew answers me.
- And there comes my princess - Woah Brook stopped laughing instantly when he saw Lou coming this way.
- Hi sweetie - She says when she gets to the table.
- Hi babe - Brook tells her.
- Babe don't misunderstand me but I was talking to Jay.
Instantly his face turns from being a face to being a little tomato with blonde hair.
- Oooooh - Jack and Drew shout at him like in Regular Show as Lou and I burst into laugh.
- Guys don't be mean - I say - That could happen with you - I point to Jack - and Mack - now I turn to look at Drew - , or with you and Maddie.
- I don't like Maddie - Drew says starting to blush.
- Oh boy of course you do! - Jack tells him.
- What is this crap? A twins evil plan? - He says a bit funny.
- Yes because we make evil plans everyday - We say at the same moment - Ok, weird, stop it! No you stop it! 1, 2, 3 - after counting to three we both stop talking.
- Phew, you know? After years of hearing you talk at the same time saying the same things, I can't get used to it yet - Lou says to us.
- Me neither - Say Brook and Drew at the same time.
- Ain't that weird too? - Jack asks Lou.
- No because they're not twins - She replies.
- Let's drop the subject - Jack says - , where's Madds?
- Dude, only I can call her Madds ok? - I say.
- Yeah sure sis, anyway, she should be here already.
- Who? - Says a new voice.
- Maddie! - We all shout at the same time.
- Wasn't that just a 'Jade and Jack' thing? - She ask talking about everybody speaking at the same time.
- It is, that was just coincidence - Brook say.
- Hey Madds how are you? - I say.
- Fine, what about you? Explain me why am I here right now please.
- Uh well, we're here because this dude over here - I say pointing to Jack - Is scared of asking Mack on a date but he want her to go to Prom with him.
- So we have a problem, it is this Friday, it need to be tomorrow or never.
- So tomorrow will be - Drew say.
- Ok, what does she likes? - Brook asks.
- She likes orange tulips, chocolates, purple color, and she likes traveling to the outta town mountains park - Maddie says.
- Got it! - Drew scream making us all jump on our seats - Sorry about that, anyway, tomorrow you will tell her that you're going on a picnic and we will be waiting for her on that lake we used to go on Sundays when we were younger, remember? - We all node our heads yes as an answer -  We will skip the last class so we can get there before you, girls - When he say this my brother's jaw dropped to the floor, we are not the kind of guys that skip classes, he is more responsible than me so he might've got really scared about that idea - Hey don't get scared little butterfly is last week, we are not doing anything anymore, we already have our grades, it's not like Mr. Monroe can change them for missing 1 class in all your record since kindergarten.
- Yeah, and you will help us butterfly, we are your friends, no! We are your brothers, but not your maids, we will need help with the decorations, I'm thinking of making a big announcement that says: "Claire Mackenzie Xenophild, will you go to Prom with me and be my princess, please?" And at the moment she finishes reading it you come out of nowhere with a lot of orange tulips with chocolate and wait for her answer.
- Woah, never ever imagined you will be that sweet boy! - Maddie say cleaning fake tears.
- That's how I got my princess' heart - He says rolling his arm through Lou's shoulders.
- Okay guys we don't have much time - I interrupt their little talk - Drew what's the name of the lake?
- Lough Owel.
- Now I remember why I always forget the name - Brook said and for the first time I agree with him, is really rare, I wonder how Drew manages to remember it.
- Okay so it's gonna be on the lake however it's called, but we need to get everything.
- I know where we can get the orange tulips - Lou say - I can buy them.
- Great! I know where she buy her favorite chocolates - I say.
- I know where we can get the big placard - Brook say.
- And I have picnic stuff in my house - Maddie say.
- Now we need to get everything and see at a place that we all know to prepare everything, we still have enough time, it's only 3:12
- Lets have a pijama party at our home! - Jackson propose us.
- Do you think your mom will let us? - Brook ask.
- Dude, you live in front of my house if she doesn't anyway you can go to your home, same for y'all.
- Are you kidding Brook? She will be more than happy when she now that he will finally ask Mack to be his girlfriend! - I tell Brook.
- Uh guess you're right! Well, see you there when we get everything.
We all say bye to everyone and go to different places but everyone with the same purpose.

Ding dong
- Don't come, we're already in - I hear Brooklyn's voice from downstairs, good they're in because I'm too lazy for opening the door, and yes, they didn't wait for someone to open because mom told the boys and the girls when we were younger that if we're at home they can enter without knocking the door, and it's the same with their moms.
- Hello Brooklyn, hello Drew.
- Hi Jennah.
- Jack said you're having a sleepover with the girls, right?
- Yes Jennah, but don't worry, we already know the rules, boys in a side and girls in another - Drew says.
- You better know them - my mom says in a fake warning voice that all of us know is fake, mom is not the punishing kind of moms most of the time, nor their mothers, except with Jenna, mom is the most horrible monster with her when she wants to, that's why I want to take her with us, Jack wants to take her too but dad said he only has space for us two, we said we can share room but he said that Jack and I will share and in another situation I'd be happy with it because it's amazing to share room with your twin but knowing that Jenna must stay with mom doesn't let me be any happy.
- You're so funny Jennah - I hear Brook laughing and then Drew and mom start laughing too.
As I finish cleaning where we're going to sleep, the big guests room where we always do the sleepovers, I hear Jack and Jenna going down stairs talking about a tv show they're into about a girl who lived in a town and when she moves to the city becomes a super spy, and then the bell ringing again.
- No need to come, we're already in - I hear Lou screaming from the entrance, I guess the boys, Jenna and mom are in the kitchen. When I finish cleaning I go downstairs and salute everyone.
- Ok guys so we - Say Maddie pointing at Jenna, Lou and I - are going to buy pizza, sodas and snacks while you take all this boxes - She give the box with the materials for Mack's surprise to the boys - Upstairs to the guests room.
- Fine, boss, but we want Jenna to stay with us.
- She's not a thing, let's let her decide - Lou proposes.
- Cool, I think that's better - Jack and I say at the same time and instantly look to each other with a grin on our faces.
- Wierd, anyway, I want to stay with the boys.
Maddie and Lou scream a loud 'What' the same time the boys, including Jackson, scream an also loud 'Yay' and when I turn around I see mom is not here anymore but I don't really care, and when I come out of my thoughts I see Drew carrying Jenna the way Santa carries his toys bag while Jenna laughs asking to be putted on the floor but Drew doesn't put her down until they're upstairs and an involuntary grin appears in my face because at least I know they and the girls will make her happy while Jack and I are gone, they promised it and brothers don't break promises.
- Hey! Earth calling Jade - Maddie shakes a hand in front of my face taking me out of my thoughts.
- Uh sorry, I was just... thinking- I say letting out a sad sigh.
- Hey don't be sad, is it because of Jenna? - She asks and I nod my head yes - you know we will take care of her, we know how your mother is with her and at least I have no problem with doing sleepovers, anyway, college is in front of her school, she can sleep with one of us everyday and when not we can stay here until she falls asleep and come for her early in the mornings for school, anyway each of us have a key copy.
- I know, it's just that I don't think I'm ready to this, but let's go to the car, mom could be listening.
We got into the car and keep talking about Jenna.
- So tell me exactly how you feel - Maddie said.
- You know, I'm not really sure - I say while Lou drives to the pizza store -, I mean, I'm happy because I'm going outta this hell and I'm going with my dad but I'm also sad because she can't go with us and I know that y'all will take care of her but, what will happen when you're not there to watch mom's moves? She's just a little teenager and she doesn't deserve all the hate mom has inside her, that's cruel.
- Yes, you're right, but just stop thinking about it Jay, it won't change anything, it'll just make you feel worst. - Lou says - For now, lets enjoy our family night and buy those pizzas! - She screamed that last part.
I haven't realized we had arrived to the pizza store until the girls hoped out of the car, I followed them into the pizza store, then to the market for snacks, and finally back home.
- WHO ASKED FOR A PIZZA? - I scream knocking the guests room's door.
- ME! - Everyone, including Jenna, yelled.
After eating, Jenna went to bed and we started preparing everything for tomorrow.
- Okay dude, let's see what's inside this boxes - Drew said opening the first box - We have fake tulips - Now his gaze hum, angry? Concerned? I'm not really sure - What the hell? - He yells, and yup, it's definitely an angry gaze - This can't be real - He stand up taking his own head with his hands - This can't be happening - He says walking in circles, we turn to look at each other and I realize everyone is as scared as I am.
- Hey are you okay? What's the problem - Maddie says caressing his shoulders trying to hug him but scared of doing it, did I ever mentioned there's chemistry between them but they refused to admit it? , she turns to look at us and we all encourage her, including the boys, aww they want this to happen too, I turn my face to her again and they're now in the sweetest hug I've ever see.
- I gotta take a picture of this! - Lou whispers at me taking her phone out and taking off the volume and flash so they don't notice what she's doing.
- Now, Drew stop being a baby and tell us why are you mad or sad or whatever are your feelings right now - Maddie says getting out of the hug.
- Now that I think it, and after that wonderful hug - both of them blushed - I think it may sound a bit ridiculous - he says with a nervous grin on his face looking at us.
- Tell us any way - Brook says.
- Didn't you heard what I say that is in that box? - he says pointing to the box.
- I just heard "Tulips".
- Well, seems like you missed the most important part, they are FAKE - he scream with an special voice tone in fake.
- Oooh, got it, who brought them? - Lou raised her hand - oh baby, what you did? Listen, he's got a trauma with fake flowers.
- Really why? - Maddie says worried taking the flowers to the further corner of the room and sitting next to Drew, caressing his arm while he breaths heavily, he lower his face to see his arm, the one that Maddie is caressing, then he move his eyes from Maddie's hands to her arm, shoulder and finally her face, stopping in her lips, they both seem nervous, just as all of us, we all stare at them while a breath taking silence feels the room, we act like nothing is happening while they get closer, Brook takes a picture and when Drew finally close the space that separated them, on their first kiss ever, Lou's cellphone stared ringing with the most perfect song for this moment: One Direction Last First Kiss in the part of the chorus where Harry does a higher solo and then all keep singing together and she didn't answer just because we thought the same thing: It made this moment even more perfect than it was and seconds after the cellphone stopped ringing they separated with the sweetest smiles I've ever see in my whole life and out of nowhere Drew speaks.
- I love you - he says and I was going to tell Brooklyn he should record this but when I turned to face him he was already doing it.
- I've been waiting for you to say it for 13 years, I love you too, since the very first moment I saw you, I love you Drew - we all make a loud 'Aww' but they don't seem to listen, or care.
- Will you g-go to Prom wi-with me? - he asked way too nervous.
- Of course! - She says hugging him and I see Brook is still recording, with a smile on his face.
- And will you be my, you know, girlfriend? - Her smile became bigger but before she could answer I heard Brook screaming.
- Oh sweet quesadillas, this is really happening, and I'm recording it!
- Babe, we all know you are doing it, but you are interrupting - Lou says annoyed - Plus quesadillas aren't sweet - She says and we all burst into laughter.
- Anyway, Maddie? Will you? - Drew asks even more nervous.
- Of course yes! - she replies and we all say 'Aww' again and they start kissing again.
- And here - Jack starts talking - we can see the heartthrob Drew Alexander under a spell ladies and gentlemen, stay tuned because in the next chapter of 'Our Life As The Three Musketeers' we'll see how I ask my forever love to go Prom with me and be my girlfriend, this was another chapter, hope you liked and see you later alligators! - and Brook stops recording.
- What was that? - Lou asks.
- Uh she didn't know? - Maddie say.
- Well analyzing her reaction I think she didn't - I answer.
- Look babe - Maddie says - have you ever noticed that when we're at any place that isn't any of our houses or school every single girl stares at us?
- Yeah but that must be because the most cutest guys in Mullingar are with us right?
- Yeah that's true - Drew says and Maddie punches his shoulder.
- That's true sure, but that's not the main reason.
- And that would be...?
- We have a blog, in YouTube and its called 'Our Life As The Three Musketeers' - My brother tells her.
- Oh that explains why you always carry an expensive camera with you and you always talk about this Three Musketeers thing.
- Yup - the 3 of them say at the same time.
- Okay, okay - I say clapping my hands - Too much conversation, we have a date to prepare and still we don't know about Drew's artificial flowers trauma.
- That doesn't matter anymore, let's just get REAL tulips please - he says.
- Okay, I'll be back like in 20 minutes - Lou says taking her car keys.
- I'll go with you babe - Brook says standing up.
- Okay - she says holding his hand and walking out of the room.
- Fine so what are we gonna do? - Maddie asks.
- Uh let's start with the placard - Jack says. I take my phone and put our sleepovers playlist taking the paint bottles to the center of the room, thank God it's a big room.
- Okay, her favorite color is purple so we should use lilac as background and and purple for the letters - Maddie proposes and we all agree.
The time passes, like 20 minutes exactly, right now we're listening to Closer by Halsey and The Chainsmokers - Well that looks pretty great I'd say yes if I was Mack.
- You think? I think something is missing - Jack tells her.
- Why don't we cut up those things called fake flowers and put them in each corner? - say Drew pointing to the bouquet of fake tulips.
- Yeah that'll look great Drew! - I say and get a pair of scissors to start cutting them.
So later when Lou and Brook are back we have a big placard that reads: 'Claire Mackenzie Xenophild, will you go Prom with me and be my princess, please?' With glitter all over the surface that matches with the colors of the letters like light blue and bright pink, it looked really beautiful I must admit.
- Oh my God! - We all turn to look my sister who had just entered to the room - that looks really good, I'd say yes if I was Mack, bro.
- How do you know it's mine and not Drew's? - Jack asked.
- You're way to obvious, my dear big brother, there's no need to be smart to know you drool for her buddy, by the way, I think she will say yes - she says patting his back, making all of us look at her as if she was a comedian and right after she closes the door we all start laughing.
- What are we laughing at? - I hear Brook's voice and Maddie was about to answer when she's interrupted by Lou.
- Oh my God! That's just beautiful! I'd say yes if I was Mack!
- Why does everybody keep saying that? - Jack asks funnily.
- Well maybe because that's true, you silly - I tell him and we start laughing again.
- Now let me see those completely real orange tulips, please - Drew asked Lou - Well, they're pretty beautiful, smell good, have bright color, and the best part: they're 100% real!
- Okay, so we're done with the placard and have the flowers - I say, pouring the flowers into a glass with water - What's next?
- The food! - Jack screams.
- Right, so what's her favorite food? - Brook asks looking at me.
- Uh well, she loves many things but I think we should do it like more classic, I mean like in the old movies she likes: With a huge red and white squares pattern blanket, strawberries, sandwiches, orange juice and the most special thing, her favorite desert: Stuffed chocolate cheesecake - I say to see what they think about my idea.
- Yeah she'll love that! - Maddie says.
- Raise your right hand if you like Jade's idea - Lou proposes and everyone raises their hand - Okay so Jade's idea will be.
One hour later, more exactly 7:33, we already have most of the things done, we're just missing the cheesecake, it's almost done, we just need to put the chocolate inside of it and we'll be done.
- Do you think she will mind if it's not straight? - Lou asked while we were cutting the cake in two parts.
- Maybe she won't, but I will - My brother said.
- Well as I wasn't asking you, I don't really care - She told him.
- Yeah and you're not helping at all so you can't complain - I said.
- Hey sis, I was hoping you'd be by my side.
- I would if you bothered helping us instead of being complaining.
- Ok, do it however you want to, just be sure it's not ugly please.
- Yeah whatever - The three of us answer him and keep cutting the cheesecake in two pieces and when it's done we put milted chocolate in the middle and then we cover all the surface with more chocolate and then put it in the freezer so we don't have problems later with the chocolate.
- Ok so I think we're officially done - I say triumphantly when I finished cleaning the kitchen.
- So let's go upstairs and finally have some sleep - Maddie says and we all agree.
Tomorrow will be a big day for my twin...
