They all knew the story of the infamous, Boy Who Lived, but I suppose you'd never guess there was another years later that lived too. Yes Voldmort didn't learn his lesson the first time. And this is that story.
As harry prepared for his first year, as we all well remember, there was another gathering up scrapes of clothes off a cot and grudgingly started cramming them into a trunk. The figure had long blonde hair golden more than the sun itself. The person was about the average height of most first years. Although a little taller, with brilliant blue eyes more crystal clear than the deepest ocean. Those eyes were clouded now with tears and distrust. Angry with the world for being different and alone.
As another robe was being tossed into the trunk, an owl came flying into the cold damp room where the figure had been packing. It landed lightly atop the trunk lid and gave a tiny hoot. The figure stretched out a hand and ruffled the feathers under its beak.
"We’ll be leaving soon dear friend. Out of this dark gloomy place. I know my heart will be cold even after leaving here. No parents. No friends just you Raventide." came the soft tinkle of a heartbroken voice.
The owl outstretched its head to the hand awaiting another pat. It was magnificently unusual Raven black all over with a deep bluish hue to the end of its wings. Its eyes were the mirror reflection of our figures.
The trunk was soon packed and the figure came sulkily down some stairs towards an entry way the glass windows above it showed the clouds from a recent storm. Our figure felt their heart sink. They loved the rain and was sad when it was gone and with no sun in its place the world was certainly gloomier indeed.
"Dreaming again Angel Marie?" a stern voice came from atop the old stairs. "That's all you ever do isn't it?" The voice belonged to a tall stern looking older woman. She had mahogany hair in a tight tidy bun and was dressed head to toe in a strict non lively fashion. The kind of woman you knew was all about rules and had no imagination.
"No m'aam an orphan can't afford to dream." the tinkling on her voice announced a little more saddened.
"Makes no sense why this school you’re to go to wants you at all. You should thank the stars you are so lucky. Stand up straight now I won't have you representing the orphanage in such a manner. Your escort will be along soon some Weasley or something another I think his name was. Him and his family will take you to your train your to mind yourself and not talk ill of where you came from. We did our best you know."
"yes 'em. I know it wasn't easy to have such a strange girl as me. Who has the unfortunate life of having unfortunate unexplainable things happen around one so." Her eyes looked to the window with blank amusement at her life.
"Indeed. Well head outside and wait on the steps Mr. Weasley should be here soon." She directed the girl to the door swiftly pushing her out.
Up from the ridgepole on the roof she could see Raventide who unleashed a light hoot and rumpled her feathers.
"I wish you could come but I have no idea where I'm going. The school m'aam never told me. Just that it was a school that wanted me to attend for a special education." Angel’s voice drifted up to the owl and it ruffled its feathers in defiance.
A man soon walked up to her noticing her gaze up to the owl. "Well if you’re going to bring her with you you'll need a cage." He said with a smile.
Angel turned in fright not noticing the man’s approach. He had red hair and so did his whole family behind him. There was a boy amidst behind him who was feeding crumbs to a rat. Amongst him a set of twins that seemed in headlong into a mischievous plot. Angel focused on the man again. "Are you Mr. Weaslbee then?"
He chuckled, "Weasley and yes I am. This is my daughter Ginny, my wife Molly and our boys the two over there are Fred and George and that there is Ronald with his rat scabbers."
Angel looked out to Ron who looked like he was going to hurl from embarrassment. He looked up and gave her a force smile choking back who knows. "Hi." he said shakily waving his hand.
"Hello." was her quick reply. “What do you mean bring her?”
“Your owl, up there of course.” Mr. Weasley said pointing up at the ridgepole. “Didn’t they tell you, you could bring her?”
Angel looked down at here toes angrily. “They didn’t even tell me where I was going. Do you suppose they’d care to tell me what I may take besides they don’t know of the owl.”
RavenTides flew down just then from the ridgepole and landed upon Angel’s trunk. In the birds eyes Angel saw the refection of her disheveled reflection and grew cold again.
“Don’t we have a train to catch?”
Mr. Weasley looked at the girl quizzically. “You have everything you need? Clothes, Owl, school material? Wand?”
“Wand? What do mean wand?”
Mr. Weasley reached into his breast pocket and produced his wand.
“Oh you mean that yes I have one. One of the benefactors’ brought it to me.” She reached into her robes and produced a wand.
“Very good then. We shall make our way to the train. Ron when we get there do show Angel around help her get acquainted son.”
Ron nodded obeying to his father and gave another forced grin to Angel as if he was going to be sick again. Angel laughed in her mind at him. Then she picked up her trunk and Raventide perched herself upon her shoulder. She couldn’t help but smile a little at her new companions they were unusual and she liked it.
