Beneath a cherry tree in a meadow slept three pokemon- Rail, a pikachu, Ripple, a piplup, and Dusty, an eevee. The sun slowly rose from the East. Rail felt the sunlight warm his sensitive skin and woke up. He stretched and opened his eyes.
"Ahh, what a beautiful day..." he said, sleepily. Then he realised exactly what was wrong with that sentence. "Wait a se...OH MY- DUSTY! RIPPLE! WAKE UP! THE SUN IS....OUT!"
"Rail, don't be ridiculous; the sun hasn't been there for, like, seven hundred-" said Dusty, barely awake. She failed to finish her sentence when she opened her eyes and saw the sky. She sat there, staring wide-eyed for a few seconds before dropping to the ground, unconscious.
Ripple, who had been watching quietly, sighed in annoyance. "Great. Little Miss Drama fainted again," he said, then sighed again. "I'll go get the revive..." he huffed, and with that he walked behind a bush.
He returned momentarily, holding a small, yellow, diamond-like object. He gave it to Dusty, and her eyes shot open.
She was gasping for breath. "OHMYGOSHTHESUN!!" she said, too shocked to pause between words.
Ripple sighed for a third time. "Yeah. The sun. What else is new?" he said, and sat down to watch the reactions of his companions.
Dusty and Rail turned and looked at him as if he had grown a second head. He smiled faintly at his gullible friends. "Oh, c'mon, I'm only joking! I'm just as shocked as you are, but we have more important things to worry about, like finding berries for breakfa-"
"Ah, but that's where you're wrong!" interrupted Rail, smiling smugly. "I found a TON of sitrus berries last night, so we can feast like Arceus."
"I wonder why Arceus created this place with no sun..." wondered Dusty. Ripple dismissed this with yet another sigh- he did not believe in the legend of Arceus. Dusty glared at him, then turned to Rail. "Anyway, pass the sitrus berries, I'm STARVING!"
A while later, the trio had finished their feast. "So...full..." said Ripple. He staggered to his feet, only to fall over immediately. Dusty giggled, but Rail took a more serious outlook on the situation.
"Nevermind your trivial problems, we have a mystery on our hands. The sun is in the sky- the flippin' sky!"
Dusty laughed. "The sky doesn't flip! And you say Ripple's the smart one..."
Ripple was about to sigh for a fifth time since he woke up, but Rail got there first. "Shut up, Dusty," said the determined pikachu. "We-we have to find out what's causing this!"
And with that, he bolted out of the clearing.
"Rail! Come back!" Dusty yelled after him, but it was no use.
Ripple took charge. "Come on! We've gotta follow him!" he said, and with that they ran off after Rail.
