Camila p.o.v

The mall has always been a place I go when I want to relax. I don't know why and yes it seems weird that somewhere full of people you don't know would soothe someone but it does.

Something about the fact that all these people have a story and are here for something calms me down. I mean, that is the reason people come to malls right? To shop. I mean, you think you can tell what is going on in someone's life by the objects they put into their bags, but you never know. Maybe the girl buying the diamond earrings in a expensive jewelry store isn't rich, but buying them to seem rich for someone else and is spending all the money she has just on those studs.

I have been to 5 stores today picking out some clothes and a new phone so that James has no reason to contact me. I am now currently sitting in the food court watching all the noise around me. I sip on my iced coffee and look around at the different couples that seem to be so in love that their eyes are telling a story only they can understand.

I feel like I've had enough mall time today and decide that I should continue home. Well not my home but the place that I'm staying at.

I pull up to a red light and look over and have to do a double take before reclining my seat and trying to push my head down as far as my spine will allow it.

"Camila!" I hear him yell.

"Camila I know it's you."

When the light turns green I push the pedal as far down as it would go and guide my seat back up. I check my mirrors to see if he is still behind me and I Let go of a breath I didn't even know I was holding when I see the black Audi no where in sight.

When I walk in the doors I am immediately greeted by none other than Lauren Jauregui.

"She's back." I say with a small smile playing on my lips.

"Well if your friend wasn't such a stoner and smoked the whole pack I have her last night, then I wouldn't be." Lauren said licking a strip of paper and continuing to roll the joint.

"Talking about me again Lo?" Dinah said giggling and hanging upside down off the couch.

"Yes Polly, I am." Lauren smiled throwing a empty water bottle at her.

I just laugh and continue to carry my bags into my room and put them away into the dresser in the room. I sit on my bed and pull out my new phone and decide to download some apps and games. I am playing around on my phone when there is a soft knock heard on my door.

"Hey, me and D are going out to lunch. Wanna come?" The green eyed girl asked.

"Uh, sure." I said pushing myself off the bed and grabbing a black adidas jacket and walking out the door with Lauren.

We get into Lauren's car and decide to head to some small burger joint by Lauren's house.

A brown haired women who looks somewhat like Jennifer Lopez seats us and gets us some waters and pops before walking back into the kitchen area.

"So Camila, are you doing any school down here?" Lauren asks stirring her water with her finger that is freshly painted with matte black nail polish.

"Yes actually, I'm doing musical art and producing at Miami Uni." I say using my plump lips to pull the juicy end of the cherry off of the thin and short stem.

"Wow, So you sing?" Lauren smirks.

"Eh, I used to in high school but now I just produce and edit." I say.

Then Dinah buts in. "No Mila can sing and she can sing good. She actually tried out for the X-Factor when she was 16 but left beca-"

"Dinah! Don't!" I say swinging my body across the table and smacking my hand over her mouth.

"Sorry Mila." Dinah squeaked.

I just close my eyes and take a deep breath. Thinking about the past makes me want to hurl.

"Well, I actually sing too." Lauren said changing the conversation back.

"Really? You. A singer?" I ask laughing.

"What is that supposed to mean?" Lauren said pretending to be offended but the small smirk playing on her lips is noticeable even in this dimly lit room.

"Well, normally a dark looking girl who deals drugs on the side of whatever job she already has, her schedule doesn't include singing." I said wiping my hands on my pants.

"Haven't you heard not judge a book by its cover?" Lauren said with the smirk making its place on her face once again.

"Yes I have, but what do you think the reasons that authors make exciting book covers?" I said letting a smirk print on my face.

"There is some tension going on right here and I'm not sure if it's sexual but regardless, I'm going to the bathroom." Dinah said getting up from her seat in the booth.

"I'll go with you." I said standing up as well.

Dinah grabs my hand and pulls me back into the bathroom area.

"Okay, what is going on with you?" Dinah said pulling up my eyelids and looking into them.

I swat her hand away and speak "nothing? what are you talking about?"

"You and Lauren! You tell me that you are straight but you've been practically eye fucking each other since we sat down!" Dinah said whisper yelling.

"Dinah, I am straight. You are my best friend and I would tell you if anything changed." I said laughing.

Even I caught on to the fact that I was looking at Lauren more than any other way that I would look at women. I know how I feel about men but have I really ever put how I feel about women in my mind?

"Well, please just tell me if anything changes because I can tell that something is up." Dinah said ruffling the hair on the top of my head.

"Okay D." I said walking out of the bathroom and making our way back to the table.

"Did you guys have fun wiping each others assholes?" Lauren said laughing.

"So much." I said looking at her.

She really is beautiful. Those green eyes pierce right through you and you feel like they are trying to communicate with you but you can't get over their shine. Her lips are almost the shape of a heart when she lets them rest against each other. Her short hair holds small waves that rest calmly down her back, and her smile lights up a room and holds a past that not a lot of people know about but still does a great job of masking it.

"Uh, Camz?" Lauren said waving her hand in front of my face.

"Uh yeah?" I say shaking the thoughts out of my mind.

"We're leaving now?" Lauren said smirking for the hundredth time today.

"Did you call me Camz?" I laugh sliding out of the booth.

"I did. Problem?" Lauren asked.

"Nope. Just different that's all" I said. I like that. Camz. I could get used to that.

"Well, my apartment isn't far from here so I'll just walk home. I'll get my car tomorrow D." Lauren said pulling a cigarette from her pocket and placing it between her lips and lighting it.

"Bye Lo!" Dinah said smiling and waving.

"See you later Camz." Lauren said smirking and sending a wink my way.

"Bye Lauren. See you soon." I said with a hint of hope for a positive answer.

"You will." She said turning around and walking the other way.

There is something about being with Lauren that makes me feel free and myself. I don't know what it is yet... but I intend on finding out what it is soon.
