Adrienette Heartbreak

Marinette's P.O.V

"Today is the day. Today, I will tell him how I feel." I tell myself in the mirror. I'm going to tell Adrien that I like him. I silently splash a little water on my face and exit the bathroom. "Hey girl!" Alya calls, walking down the hall, waving towards me. I wait for her, and we walk down to class. "I'm gonna do it." I say. "I'm going to tell him." Alya squeals with delight. "Good for you! I'm sure he'll return the gesture!" I giggle a little as we go into the classroom and sit in our usual seats. Chloe sashays into the room with Sabrina close behind her. Adrien and Nino wave politely at them. Sabrina ignores them, but Chloe flirtatiously blows a kiss Adrien's way, just like always. The bell rings, and class begins.

*******(Time skip to after school)********

"Alright girl, go get him!" Alya says. I take in a shaky breath and walk over to where Adrien and Nino are. "Hey!" I say. Nino and Adrien look over at me. "Hi Marinette." They reply. I swallow the lump in my throat. "A-a-adrien, could I t-talk to you?" He nods his head and smiles. We walk a few steps away, and I start to scratch my head nervously. "Um, I uh, I wanted you to um, know that, I-" I'm stopped by Chloe's loud, annoying voice. "Marinette Dupaign Cheng! WHAT do you think you're doing?" She yelps, walking over to Adrien and hugging him tight. "Hello Adrikins! Just one second while I get rid of her." She struts over to me, then points an accusing finger at me. "Just what do you think you're doing, talking to Adrikins?! You don't deserve to be in his presence, let ALONE talk to him! You shouldn't even look at him, because you're such a Loser!" She shoves me, and I fall to the ground, tears welling in my eyes. I get up and run, run away back home, without looking back, tears streaming out of my eyes. How could Chloe say something like that? The door clinks open when I enter the bakery, and I don't even bother to say hi to my parents like I usually do. I run into my room and fling myself onto the bed, starting to cry harder. "Marinette, don't let her get to you!" Tikki says. I roll around onto my back and sniff. "She's right though. How could I ever think that Adrien would return my gesture?"

Adrien's P.O.V

"what the heck Chloe?!" I yell as Marinette runs away crying. Chloe sighs and flips her hair. "What Adrikins? The brat deserved it, she shouldn't be talking to you." I ball up my fists as Nino and Alya come up beside me. "Alya, go check on Marinette." Nino whispers. Alya runs off towards the bakery, as my anger swells. "Chloe, you're the brat! Marinette is the nicest, most kindhearted person I know! You're ruthless and cruel!" Chloe steps back, hurt. "How could you say that Adrikins?" Nino answers before I can. "Oh, I don't know. Maybe because the first day Adrien came here, you were trying to put gum on her seat?!" He yells. Chloe rolls her eyes. "So WHAT. Do you really think I care about what you're saying right now? Plus, that was like, a million years ago." I storm off down to the curb where my car was. It was time to go home, and anyways, I had to go see Marinette as a special someone."
