Chapter 7:Problems and duets

          

Rika was thinking of what they can do with their song. It sounded just perfect besides the solo yes Rika sung and did a guitar solo but they needed something else, they needed pizazz they needed more sparkle, at least that's what Izumiko said "I have a great idea!" Rika said "What is it the idea?" Akko said "That maybe me and Hayla could do a duet!" Rika replied Yes Rika would love to do a duet but deep inside she didn't, but she kinda felt selfish cause all she wanted was the spotlight on herself, so she just decided to go with it. Rika walked over to Hayla which was standing in the corner. "What's wrong?" Rika asked "Ohhh nothing just thinking of the band" Even though that is not what is wrong, she still didn't want to tell Rika what was going on. "I just had the greatest idea for the band, me and you {Sigh} could do a duet!" Rika said with a moan to her voice to be honest she didn't want to do a duet she just didn't want to seem selfish and impolite. "That sounds great!" Hayla said when her joy was lifted "But are you okay with it?"

"Yes I am great with it!" Rika said anxiously "You sure?" She said with a happy face

"Yes I am very sure!" Even though Rika was lying she still didn't want to seem selfish and tell the truth now could she? And A lot of things where on Rika's mind, she was thinking about the band, and thinking about Aki. Also thinking about what will happen after the battle of the bands? Will the band be together forever? Or will the band just dis-band? She was worried but the most thing she was worried about lying to her friends, and she was hoping her friends wouldn't find out, she didn't want to upset them. SO she continued to talk "We should get working on it then". "Yep!!! I am excited!" Hayla said as they both picked up the microphone, Akko started to play a beat, as they sang the duet Rika just wasn't sure about this, she was nervous, but she looked over and saw how happy Hayla was when they sang the song, so she was doing it all for Hayla really. After the song the band cheered, the battle of the bands was coming up so fast, just a few days away they all had to be prepared, brave and do their best. Now after band practice everyone went home, but as soon as Rika walked in she got a phone call, "Hayla" She said as she smiled and answered the phone. "Hey Hayla!" Rika said quickly, "Hi bestie! Just wondering if we all could go to this new froyo place tonight around six o'clock!" Hayla sounded excited it ment everything to her that we went, and of course it sounded fun! Rika couldn't pass up this opportunity, "Sure I'll love to go meet you there!" Rika said as Hayla squeaked, the phone call ended and Rika headed up to her room, as she got another phone call, she took her phone out of her pocket to find a random number calling her she didn't want to miss something important so she decided to answer it "Hell-o?" Rika felt nervous she didn't want to be called by a creep or something "Is this Rika?" the voice said, it was a soft man voice, that sounded familiar "Yes who is this?" Rika said

"Its me, Aki, I came to call, see how everything is going"

Rika felt relived she actually had his phone number she was about to faint. "You called to check on me?" Rika said nervously "Well you and Onoi, I don't know her phone number" "Wait how did you get my phone number?" "you gave it to me remember?" "Oh no I didn't rememb- well nice from hearing from you, I am fine and tired from band practice, but if you want you can come to the new froyo place tonight with me and my girl friend's, It'll be fun!" she was waiting for his response, he just paused she didn't know why, she thought she freaked him out "You there?" she said waking him out of a trace "Yeah just shocked" "Why are you shocked?" "you never asked me to go anywhere before, sure I will go though! It sounds fun! I will be there! See you!" he hung up before she could respond she felt bad, so she packed her things and headed to the band practice building full of bright colors, she just went there to think, she sat on the stage and cross her arms, she didn't want to do a big duet with Hayla, but she didn't want to lie but she didn't want Hayla and the others get angry and upset for her for seeming selfish, she didn't know what to do, maybe she could talk to someone, there was on person she could call, it was Aki, but he probably was to busy, so she just put her head down worrying crying a bit, she was so confused to be honest life was hard, all they went through and they were just fourteen. After sometime Rika finally went home and started to relax she was so tired, she looked at her phone to find the time at five o'clock, she had to be there in an hour, so she got up and walked outside, But she just realized she needed a ride "Shoot" she said as she picked up her phone and called Aki, she knew it was last minuet but it was her only chance to go "Hey can u come pick me up?" she asked "Yeah sure" they hung up and she was waiting there for a few minuet's but he showed up in this red car and she got in and they drove off, she was looking out the window, Aki wondered what was wrong, he kept looking at her and smiling, but still he didn't know if he liked her or Onoi, he was confused he wasn't sure how he felt yet, but he knew he felt bad for her,
