Mrs. Williams opened the main door of her house and was a bit shocked to see Ash.
"Hi-"
"I'll wait for Misty until she gets home from school. I'll wait here. I won't bother anyone." Ash sat down on stairs and gave his back to Misty's mother.
"Alright..."
"I'm going-oh, hi Ash!" It was Mr. Williams who was leaving his house. He said as he walked to his car outside, "What are you doing here? Misty is inside!"
Ash got up. "What?"
"I was going to say that..." Mom pointed inside the house. "She doesn't want anyone to bother her, though."
"Did she say that about me?"
"No, dear, she didn't! It's just... she doesn't like unexpected visitors." Mrs. Williams giggled.
"Huh? Did something bad happen to Misty?"
"Not at all! Oh, you're so sweet. Let me hug you." She hugged Ash and he had no idea what was going on. "Nothing happened to her, of course. Get inside. Don't mind her if she shouts at you."
Ash thought he'd never get women. "Thanks, Mrs. Williams..."
She giggled loudly. "Get in!"
Ash flashed a smile and got inside. Misty's mother got in after he did but she quickly walked past him and shouted, "Misty! Ash is here!"
"What do you mean Ash is here? You're so funny, mom!"
Misty gasped and sat up on the couch when she saw Ash walking over to the living room. A big bowl of popcorn and a smaller bowl of chips fell to the floor as she did so (they were put on her lap). Her mom flew to the kitchen.
"What-what the-who let you in?" Misty was trying to wipe the chocolate off of her mouth, wrap herself in a blanket and get her tangled hair in a bun at the same time.
"Wait."
Misty stopped moving as Ash walked up to her and reached out for her hair. He started running his hand through her hair and brushed it to the back once it looked decent enough.
"I looked pretty stupid doing that, didn't I?"
"A little."
"A little? Again?"
Her mom was so evil. Why couldn't she leave Ash at the door for a couple of seconds while she gets a little bit decent again? For God's sake, she had her foot up on the top of the couch and her belly was all over the place. She probably looked ridiculous.
"You're a little funny, a little mean, a little hot-tempered, a little annoying. You're a little bit of everything."
Misty gave him a look. She had one single wish at the moment and it was not having any chocolate on the corner of her lips.
"A little ugly too."
"No, you're not ugly; at least that's what I think."
Misty sighed. "Why are you my friend? Why me?"
"Why you? Hummm..." Ash faked to be in thought. Misty kept staring at his neck. She blushed a little.
"Why did you come looking for me anyway?"
"I had to."
"I feel disgusting. I really am." Misty looked down at herself and then at the huge mess she's made in the living room with her comforts foods all over the place. "But you weren't supposed to be here anyway and see-"
