Twins (Ghost Hunt fanfic)

Your.... Alive?!?

Mai P.O.V.
Beep. Beep. Beep. Be-
I slammed my fist down on to the alarm clock. The sound of it smashing into bits and pieces rang in my ears.
"Great I'll need to buy a new one." I grumbled. I got up slowly leaving the warmth of my bed behind. I stumbled slowly into the shower. My mind reeling. It had been awhile since I've had one of those dreams, but it was still the same. I stepped under the stream of water spraying from my shower head. The heat waking me up as I recounted the events of the dream.

I watched as dream Naru, well I knew dream Naru was not the real Naru, just a duplicate, anyway, I watched as dream Naru was grabbed after walking out of a tea shop, I saw as his assailants placed a rag over his mouth. I watched his eyes get heavy. I saw his body go limp. I wanted to help but I couldn't. I watched as he was dragged into a black van. And after that everything began to fade.

I sighed softly. The mint shampoo cooling my scalp. I stepped out of the shower. Wrapping my towel around myself tightly. I decided to wear something different today. Outside the norm. I picked out my grey distressed skinny jeans and my white wolf crop top. I then grabbed my army green jacked along with my black combat boots. I grabbed my black leather bag and my sun glasses. I decided on a minimal amount of makeup. Eyeliner and some mascara. My hair had gotten longer, but no one knew about it because of how I wore my hair. I decided to let it down. I looked in the mirror. I looked like I do when I sing at the club just a few blocks away from the office. I was surprised at how good I looked. Either way, I grabbed my phone and my keys and rushed out the door. I walked to the office. Quickly making my way up the stairs I grabbed my keys and unlocked the office door. Before I froze in my tracks. I looked at my phone and realized I was early. I smirked. This was definitely going to be interesting. I walked in and started on my work. I finished it easily, then I looked at my phone they would be here soon. I went into the kitchen and began to start making tea. I finished Naru's and poured him a cup. I then placed a drop of honey and lemon into his earl grey tea. I placed that on the tray before pouring the rest of the tea into a thermos. I then got to work on the vanilla oolong tea for myself and Lin. I finished that and placed a dash of cream into the entire brew. I poured two cups of that and placed it on the tray. I placed the rest into another thermos. I then went and put Lin and Naru's tea in there respective offices. Just as I sat down with my cup of tea the door opened. Lin and Naru walked in speaking in English. I smiled knowingly. They both looked at me. I looked up at them.
"What I can't change my style up?" I smiled softly at them. I then noticed them staring at my clean and unoccupied desktop. "What I finished all my work for the day so that way when Naru gives me extra work I can finish it." I smiled again. Naru walked into the office without saying anything. Lin smiled at me and walked into his office. I heard Naru start calling me to make tea before he stopped. Seconds later I heard a sigh. Fallowed by a secondary sigh which came from Lin. I smiled to myself. That never gets old. I pull out my sketch pad and place my ear buds into my ears. I thought about my dream. And then another thought came into mind. I flipped through the images of the people who had become my family in the past years I smiled softly. I started on a new sketch, my pencil moved carefully over the paper, his face became clear and so did his name. The letters slowly came together, and the funny thing is, is that they were the English letters. 'Gene' it was a simple word. I heard a cough and looked up to find Lin looking at me. He was trying to look at the drawing but I snapped the book closed.
"Is there something you need Lin?" I asked slowly. He nodded.
"More tea." I looked to my right as Naru was staring at me as well. I stood up and grabbed the thermoses and hand them to each man.
"There you go." I stated simply. I was still in my sketching state. But that broke when the door opened.
"My what a storm, it's quite strong." The character stated. His hat and scarf covered his face. I noticed something familiar about the scarf and the voice. But once the character took both of those items off, all I could do was stare. I heard the crash of the two thermoses as Naru and Lin dropped them. I saw the character look up. His eyes widened as he ran to his twin. Lin and Naru were both in tears as they hugged the man. My mind was frozen. Then I heard a name in the back of my mind. Naru and Lin looked at the man.
"You're alive?!?" Naru stated. I just stared. The three of them turned to me. "Mai, I can explain. This is my twin brother-" he started to say. Before I cut him off.
"Gene." The word slipped from my lips like a breeze. The three looked at me in surprise and nervousness. Another word rang in the back of my mind. "Awaken"
