Maya's POV
This time I was caught stealing chips from a drug store down the street what can I say I was hungry and didn't have any money what do they want me to do starve to death now they have me sitting in this chair staring at the wall for like 5 hours and I still didn't get any chips and it feels like my organs are eating each other when officer Friar walks up to me he not in uniform so I guess he's off today this is the first I've seen him in like 2 months last time I saw him he told me to stay out of trouble I obviously didn't listen.
"What did you do this time" he says giving me a disappointed look
"I was hungry and didn't have any money so I stole so chips from the drug store" I explain giving him a 'duh' look
"How long have you been here"
"Like 5 hours I'm starving can you get me some food"
"Yeah I'll get you something from the vending machine meanwhile I'll see what going on in there" he says when a cute boy comes up behind him
"Hey dad are you almost ready to go" The boy says
"Yeah want to make it quicker go get her chips from the vending machine I'll be back" He says walking into a room
"What kind do you want" The boy says
"I don't care as long as I get some food in my stomach"
"Ok I'll be back, I'm Lucas by the way"
"I'm Maya"
"Yeah I figured" Lucas says walking away
5 minutes later
"Here's your chips I got you 3" Lucas says handing them to me
"Thanks" I say giving him a small smile as he sits next to me and officer Friar comes out of the room
"Ok your coming with us let's go" he says walking towards to exit
"What why!" I yell
"Because you don't need to be causing more trouble" he says walking out with me following
We drive to officer Friars and Lucas's house and he brings me in
"Ok Maya this is where you'll be living for a little bit..... Kyle!" He says
"Hey dad who's this" a guy says while walking out of a room
"This is Maya she is going to be staying with us for a while, Maya this is Kyle my other son and you met Lucas " Officer Friar says
"Ok where am I going to sleep?" I says looking a round
"Lucas show her to the guest room" James (officer Friar) says
Lucas starts to walk upstairs as I follow
