After being brought back to dragon-lady’s room and taking a short nap, Hanaki got bored rather quickly. To fill in the time she lifted her teddy bear above her head and tossed it in the air, spinning it each time and attempting to catch it because….well…it just seemed like the thing to do. A few times she missed the catch and was met with a face full of fuzz and a couple times the bear landed on the edge of the bed and she panicked at the thought of it falling on the floor. She didn’t want to go through the process of getting off the bed again after she saw what a mess she made the last time. Besides, Hanaki preferred staying where she was right now. Especially since Zetsu got rid of the awful machine. Without the heat blowing in her face, this room was far more pleasant to be in and her head didn’t hurt anymore so she saw no reason to leave. And since she got her sight back there was a lot more to look at. The shapes she had seen on either side of the door were apparently dressers, according to Zetsu. There was also another bed next to the one Hanaki was in, a lamp between them, another door which she didn’t know where it led to but was told to stay away from, a few other things in plain sight, and pieces of long paper with writing on them which were posted on the walls. Like before, due to not being able to read, she ignored them.
She let out a squeak as her teddy bear landed on her face once more. Rolling on her side and hugging it tightly, she decided to end her little game and gather the bits of memory from all that’s happened today from when she woke up this morning to now. Overall, her favorite part so far was the garden. The different colors, scents, and voices were exciting and soothing all at once. And she actually understood everything the flowers said, which was interesting. Hanaki only ever barely understood most of the conversations she’s heard. With the flowers it seemed to be different somehow. It was nice. She was also glad the star lily would be okay. As sick as the plant looked she was afraid it might be dying. However, when one of the plants nearby explained what was going on, Hanaki figured it just needed to know it was cared about. She figured maybe if it felt cared for it wouldn’t want to die. The other flowers seemed to agree with the idea so she went with it. And the flowers at the back of the garden were happy to have her company for the short while she talked with them. But for some reason they also sounded upset. It wasn’t directed at her, though she chose to not ask who they were really mad at. After all, their conflicts were none of her business and she knew well enough to not interfere if she wasn’t asked. Plain and simple.
The white light from the window changed her thought process. There was still that one thing she couldn’t figure out. It involved being outside in the snow but it was as far as her memory went, like the rest was behind a brick wall she had no chance of getting around. She had so many questions involving it. Was she always here, or should she be wondering where she used to be? Earlier she was scared of Tobi because he was voluntarily giving her teddy bear back. A shadowy image in the back of her mind, the memory of when it happened before but with someone else, caused her to react the way she did. Though, it wasn’t complete so she didn’t know why she was so afraid. Who caused it? No matter how hard she tried she just couldn’t remember.
Curling into a ball, Hanaki tried to settle her nerves. Getting worked up so quickly made her headache return with a vengeance. She set her mind on ignoring the pain in the back of her head and focusing on something else. However, with her eyes closed and the comfort of the bed, she began drifting to sleep. But there were faint sounds keeping her just between awake and dreaming. A scratching noise here and there, the light shuffling of the blanket as her sides rose and fell with her breathing, and voices outside the room. Each moment she was almost asleep and her mind felt heavy one of those sounds startled her awake. Being pulled out of the limbo-like state caused a dull ache every time. Hanaki wasn’t used to such a quiet environment. Somehow it felt unnatural and her clouded memory was telling her the same thing.
