*Juvia's POV*
I walked into Game Stop and started looking around for games for my Xbox One.
I was in the right section when I bumped into someone.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I wasn't looking where I was going." I said quickly.
"It's okay. It's not everyday I bump into a cute girl." The guy I bumped into said, laughing a little.
I laughed a little. "Thanks?" I asked awkwardly.
I looked up to see him smiling at me. "I'm Gray." He said.
"J-Juvia." I said, blushing. I've never been complimented by someone so good looking before, it kind of stunned me.
"What brings you here? Please don't tell me you're just shopping for your brother's birthday present." Gray joked.
"Of course not, my brother's birthday already passed. I'm shopping for myself." I smiled. "I want a game for my Xbox One and maybe a T-Shirt."
"I'll buy you both if you agree to go on a date with me." Gray said.
"I'll go on a date with you but please don't buy things for me. I-It's unnecessary." I said.
"I insist." He said. I noticed his eyes darting around.
"No, I would feel really bad. Please don't--"
Gray grabbed a Xbox One video game and a T-Shirt before almost running to the cashier to pay.
I blinked. Was this real? Did this guy just do exactly what I didn't want him to do in less than a minute?
I went back into reality, realizing that he could be done paying by now. But what if he bought that for someone else and is trolling me?
I turned around to see Gray with a bag. He handed it to me. Which I took hesitantly, looking in it for a troll.
"Here." He said.
I gasped. "Gray! Why did you do that? You are such a nice idiot!" I yelled at him when I realized that there were actual items in the bag. A T-Shirt and some video game.
He laughed. "Chill, I wanted to. Those are pretty good if I say so myself." He shrugged.
"But, Gray, video games cost like--"
"I know, but just think of them as recommendations." He said.
"That cost at least $30 each? I'm returning these and getting your money back." I said.
"Aww, but Juvia, that would be like giving back a gift. You don't want to hurt my feelings, do you?" He asked, looking at me with puppy dog eyes.
I turned away. "Fine." I huffed. "But I owe you."
Gray smiled. "You agreeing to the date is good enough for me."
"Then I'll pay for dinner, but you have to order the most expensive thing." I said.
Gray snorted. "No way, I'm not letting you do that. I asked you on the date, it's only right for me to pay." He said.
I rolled my eyes. "Fine but I'm still paying you back." I said.
"No you won't." He said, taking my hand and leading me somewhere.
"I have to, it's only fair." I said.
"Juvia, you're one of the nicest girls I know. I don't think that's good." Gray said, his eyes ahead.
I rolled my eyes. "You're one of the nicest guys I know. I don't think that's good either." I said.
Gray suddenly pulled me inside a restaurant and requested a table for 2.
I looked in the menu before gasping.
"Gray!" I whispered. "The prices on this menu are outrageous! Can't we just go to a pizza place?"
"Juvia, I got this. Don't worry. I'm richer than I look." Gray said.
"That doesn't stop me from feeling bad." I said.
Gray laughed. "I really like you, Juvia." He said. "That's why I'm doing all of this. And there's no way I'm letting you pay me back."
I sighed, I was tired of arguing with him.
We ate and talked. We had a lot in common.
After the restaurant, we went to the park to sit at the dock.
"Gray..." I said, leaning against him and resting my head on his shoulder.
"Yeah?" Gray asked, wrapping an arm around me and resting his head on mine.
"Thank you, for everything." I said. "I've never been treated like this before. It's always, "I'll pay you back." and then the guy would just shrug and say "Okay." That's where the conversation ended. But with you, I had to argue for a while before realizing that I wasn't winning against you." Gray laughed. "So thank you, I really felt loved today. But I just wish there was something I could do to give back to you." I said.
We sat in silence for a while until Gray spoke up. "There is one thing." He said.
I sighed in relief. "Finally." I said, looking up at him. "What is it?"
"Kiss me." He said.
I smirked at him and leaned in, pressing my lips against his.
He closed his eyes and I did the same thing but I pulled away before he could do anything, leaving him leaning into the air, smiling. He stopped smiling when he realized I pulled away.
He pouted at me.
"You're real smooth, Gray." I laughed.
"Believe it or not, I've never done this with anyone before, I've never flirted once in my life." He said, looking down at the water.
"Believe it or not, you're the first guy that I actually liked going on a date with. When I went on dates with those guys who let me pay them back, I ended up paying for everything and they chose so many things and so many huge meals. It sucked." I said.
"Well, you don't deserve to be treated like that." He said.
"And you don't deserve to be left like that." I said.
"Like what?" He asked.
I leaned in and kissed him again, wrapping my arms around his neck. He did the same so I couldn't leave this time.
When we pulled apart, we were both breathing heavily. "Believe it or not, you stole my first kiss." I told Gray.
"Believe it or not, you're the first stranger I fell in love with." Gray said.
"Believe it or not, I love you too." I smiled, cuddling against him and looking out at the water.
