A/N: I don't know how the first chapter went. But here's another random chapter. This is just a preview for chapter 2 I still have a lot of things to add. Just tell me how you like it.

Brett's POV

I've been running for my damn life for about 2 hours now. I didn't know what was chasing me all I know was it made a weird sound. Unlike any animal I've ever heard and must of been huge because it shook the ground when ever it stepped.

I just wanted a smoke. Is that too much to ask? Apparently.

So back to  me running for my precious life from some unknown animal chasing me while trying to find my way back to that stupid cabin. My jacket was ripped from getting snagged on all those tree branches, my shoes were still fresh but my pants were tattered and shredded. I was currently cowering behind a tree. I had learned that this thing, whatever it was, was either slower than three-toed sloth or it was just chilling, I really hoped it was the former though. It's hearing was pretty good though and I was sure that if I wasn't wearing camouflage winter gear I'd be dead. I swear that thing could hear pin drop in Times square. I knew that if I so much as breathed wrong, I was a goner.

I never have appreciated a pebble so much in my life. There at my foot was a pebble. If I could make it to that nearby cave I might be able to hide and sit this thing out. The opening was to small for that thing I was sure of it. I threw that pebble like my life depended on it (which it kind of did). I heard it hit a tree a little ways away and the stomping started to fade. This was my chance I ran like no tomorrow and poured my very soul into my legs as I sprinted to the cave. I heard it yell in frustration. It sounded like it was yelling a curse in an ancient language like Greek or Latin when it didn't find anything. By the time it lumbered over here I was finally safe.

Boy was I wrong about being safe. I felt the ground trembling and heard the stomping of the creature. Just my luck it turns out this thing could get through the entrance. I couldn't look at it for too long or I had a feeling I would pass out. All I saw were a pair of golden yellow eyes staring at me with a look of utmost hatred, this creature whatever it was seemed to be shrouded by a black mist. It seemed to have trouble getting through the entrance to the cave, something was blocking it. After a few minutes it stomped away leaving my heart racing. I was so exhausted I fell asleep right then and there. My mom always told me monsters didn't exist. They lied.

I don't think this thing likes the light. It never seems to appear where light is, I mean during the day time. I got up from the wall and instantly my back and neck were sore. I really regretted sleeping here. There was something very weird about this cave... even aside from the fact that the thing chasing me was not able to pass through the entrance of the cave, almost as if there was a magical barrier of some sort. Something was seriously throwing me off. It looked like someone had camped out here before. It was cozy (as cozy as it gets for a cave). Now that I could see there were rappers strewn across the floor of the cave with a bunch of different weapons as well. All in all I thought I was tripping.

I felt like it was time to leave the cave. I had to try and find that stupid cabin. I was going to be in so much trouble when I got back it's not even funny. Well out I go. I secretly thanked god that I found this cave, if not for this cave I would have been monster chow. With that I left the cave and headed straight.

     Jessica's POV

"Guys I think it's time to cut our loses, even if we find Brett we already lost the damn cabin, what help are we if we get lost ourselves," I voiced after a long silence.

" We're not giving up yet," Jhakobe, Cody and Tony said in unison.

"But we've been looking for hours and the only trace he left were his cigarette butts. It's like what seven O'clock  now? I'm exhausted."

"Yo Tony I found his shoe tracks."

The whole group including me walked over and sure enough they were imprints from his shoes. Was it weird that we all knew what his shoe imprints look like, I didn't really care at the moment. Vanessa, Sarah and I found hope. I was filled with new determination I never had before. "We're not giving up, he need's to know that someone out here is searching for him," and with that we all decided to push on. Hold on Brett I'm coming for you.

Tony's POV

We were walking and we found another cigarette butt which was good news. That tells us that he was going straight. As we were walking we felt the ground tremble beneath our feet.

"Carlton, Vanessa, you guys feel that?" Carlton spoke up, "Well it can't be a tractor or machine I know that much, we're far to deep in the woods for there to be tractors and construction here. The snow was starting to get to my eyes since it reflected off the sun so well, now I felt like an idiot arguing with Jhakobe about bringing sunglasses when it was winter time. The trembling beneath are feet got stronger and the stomping got louder. I hadn't noticed it before but all the trees were bent sort of forming a path which we were diligently following now.

"Guys, I think we should run...like now," I was about to ask now but then I saw it 15 feet tall and jet black except for its beady yellow eyes that seemed to stare into your very soul. I was legs were frozen, I was paralyzed with fear, the others weren't doing much better than I was. "Nobody move a muscle," I whispered, "Lets all take three steps back, very slowly." The monster didn't really seem to notice us until Cody being the clumsy moron he is, decided to step on a twig the monster turned to face us, it's snake-like head turning 180 degrees which was super creepy excluding its arms which seemed to be too long for its body, in other words, it was a sight to be hold.

"Yo I think we should run right about now still," Carlton said dragging the I in still.

   "Good idea," I said.

"EVERYBODY RUN," Carlton yelled. None of needed to be told twice, and with that we ran for our puny adolescent lives.
