"They heard I was good, they wanna see if it's true
They know you're the one I wanna give it to
I can see you want me too
Now, it's me and you." -Cassie

*1 month later*

"Ma! Have you seen my purple lipstick?" I asked my mother as I got ready to go out with Bryson.

"No! Look inside the bathroom!" I sighed heavy making my way into the bathroom, and I still could not find it.

"Oh my gosh." I sighed looking around some more.

I saw my father come in the bathroom through the mirror, and he had letters in his hand.

My dad got out of jail a couple of weeks ago, and I was so excited. Me and my father have always been close, and it killed me when he got locked up over some drugs.

Ever since he has got out, I don't know where he has been staying at. Him and my mother broke up because when I was younger he had a problem with staying loyal, and that caused the relationship to go left. But I knew now that my parents were trying to work something out because he was around the house more, and they got along.

"What's up?"

"These letters." He said holding them up.

I took one out of his hand, and it was a acceptance letter into one of the college's I applied for, and the rest were the same.

"What about them?" I questioned shrugging my shoulders.

It was no point in me talking about it, or looking at the papers if I knew we did not have the money to afford for me to go. I was also tired of being down about it.

"What about them? This is crazy! You got accepted into these big schools, and you didn't even tell me once I got out....This is just...amazing your so smart, and intelligent." He said smiling, and gave me a big hug squeezing me.

"Dad...Okay." I chuckled, as he let go of me.

"Why didn't you tell me??"

"I didn't tell you because I am not going to any of them. We can't afford it, and plus ma needs help taking care of the kids, and--

"No, I want you to go to school." He said pointing his finger in my face.

My dad had caramel skin, and long hair that was always braided. He had hair all over his chin, and a thick mustache making him look like a cave man. He had dark, thick eyebrows and the perfect set of pearly white teeth.

"We don't have the money, dad." I tried to explain.

He shook his head, and rubbed his chin hair carefully examining me.

"Imma pay for you to go. Any school you want."

"I can't let you do that, and where will you get the money from?"

"I have my ways to make shit possible for you. I will do anything...You think I will let you throw all your hard work in the trash? You deserve to be in a good school, and have all your dreams come true. You deserve it." He said rubbing my shoulder.

"No."

"But why? I'm not taking no for a answer. You getting the fuck out the ghetto because it's Better stuff out here for people like you. Your a bright girl, and you wanna spend the most exciting time in your life in this dump? No..
hell no I won't allow it."

"Dad, I don't want to go to college!" I lied.

I didn't want to leave my family behind to struggle, or in debt because of me. We are already in enough. But sometimes it hurts to not have things handed to me like my boyfriend, but that's one reason I have always strived for better.
