so long, summer
the sun's heat is hottest at this point,
making the pavement burn to the touch.
beaches are crowded with people,
but soon there won't be much.
the water splashes onto them
and sparkles in the sunlight,
and when the day turns dark,
they'll party all night.
many have gone on vacation
with ones they love,
friends and family
or none of the above.
they'll travel to cities
and discover wonders of new places.
they'll cherish these memories
and meet many new faces.
when they come back home,
photos will get tacked up on the wall.
summer is almost over,
and soon we'll say hello to fall.
