Chapter 03 ~

Emily Ellison

"Hey, are you okay?" I heard the familiar voice echoing beside me as my eyes flickered open, facing the same familiar pair of deep blue eyes.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I nodded uneasily.
I could immediately recognize my surroundings. I'm back home.
How? I immediately jolted up and my head smacked right into his.
Both of us yelped in pain.
"Jesus woman, relax!"
"Who.. are you? And what happened?" I questioned anxiously.
He sighed, "You fainted in school after I heroically saved you from that bunch of people."
"Okay... well thanks.. but you're not answering my question, who are you?"

"Who am I? You mean you don't know?"
I shook my head, "Am I suppose to?"
He looked at me with eyes of concern and worry but it quickly changed to a weak smile.
"No, you're right... maybe not."
"Anything wrong?"
He gave me an assuring smile, "No... No, nothing... Hey, you should continue resting... I'll head out now... See you again later, princess." He waved and walked out.

What a weird guy.

**

Lisa verified that the faint spell was an indication of my powers developing.
I remember how anxious I was to have them developed.. the time finally came. I still recalled how upset I was when Sam's powers came way before mine.

Sam...

"Anything wrong?" Lisa questioned.
I plainly shook my head and replied "I'm fine, really."
"Alright, continue resting for today, we will begin training tomorrow."
"Training?" I questioned.
"Yeah, you need to work on them before you can fully utilize them. As I said, they are developing but it isn't clear enough yet." She said as she pats me on the head before walking out of the room, closing the door behind her.

I stared at the ceiling as I briefly attempt to recall the memories I had with Sam when we were young. It was so blissful back then. We would often play around in my house because his parents were busy working from home.

Shortly soon, I fell asleep.

*

Visions.

A man stood beside me. His mouth kept in a thin straight line with his silk black hair pushed backward. He was wearing a formal suit and everything about him was so... classy. He looked at me with a solemn expression.
Something about him felt so familiar.

Father..?

Shortly after, there was a gentle knock on the door.
"Come in." He responded.
The door opened and a woman who seemed to be in her twenties walked in slowly and cautiously.
She had neatly tied blonde plaits and gleaming large emerald green eyes. She was stunningly beautiful. She held out her hand and introduce herself to father before squatting down to greet me.
"Hello,  Emily. it's my pleasure to be working with you." She beamed.
I saw the young me quickly hid behind my father's back, afraid of the unfamiliar lady in front of me.
As I shyly peeked at her, I replied something back to her.

What did I say to her?

**

I woke up to the sound of my alarm. I lazily got out of bed and put on my house slippers before I dawdle towards the door. Luckily it was the weekend. At least I have something going for me today.

I was still thinking about the dream I had. Who was that lady?

Lisa was standing in front of the door, looking slightly startled, "Oh. I was just about to wake you up." She handed me a plate of sandwiches and smiled sweetly, "Meet me at the garage when you're ready." I nodded in reply and walked back into my room.

I hurriedly ate my breakfast and put on my training attire. A black sports bra and shorts, paired with my favorite sneakers, before rushing towards the garage. I met Lisa there, changed into her usual exercise attire. Beside her was a pail full of multiple objects and each different in size. When she noticed I was there, she grabbed a book from the pail and flung it towards me. I panicked and ducked before standing up again, looking at the book that fell behind me.
"What was that for?!" I shouted, demanding an explanation.

Instead, she ignored me and continued to pick up objects from the pail and hurled them towards me. In a panic, I fell to the ground n rolled, before taking cover behind the car. Silently, I peeked through the glass pane and observed her actions. She paused and turned towards the car.
I crawled to the side and threw myself towards her, but with her quick reaction, she raised her legs and kicked me backward which sent me flying.
My body slammed into the wall and knocked off a shelf. The items on it fell to the side, just almost barely touching me.
"What's wrong with you?" I cried out.
However, as I said that, she picked up a large brick and aimed it towards me.
That's going to hurt. I thought to myself as it flew towards me. I was still slumped onto the floor, no way to escape nor avoid the upcoming impact of it.

Just then, I could hear her. "You did it!" She exclaimed happily which made me squint open my eyes slowly. "D-Did what?"

I saw the object floating in front of me. "What the-" I yelled and it dropped onto the floor, breaking in half. "W-What was that?"
I looked at her for an explanation once more but preparing myself to dodge any further attacks. "Your powers." She simply replied and I dropped my guard and walked towards her.
I was too stunned to comment on anything. "Let's go inside and I'll explain further." She ushered me towards the door and I complied.

We sat down on the couch and there was a faint knock on the door.
Lisa hurried towards the door.
"Oh, it's you! Thank you so much for helping her on that day. Come on in." I heard her say.
"Thank you." He stepped into the house and we made eye-contact. "Hey." He grinned, "Glad to see my princess is up."
Princess?

Slightly disgusted, I turned away to ignore his remarks.

"I'm joking, come on, don't be such a salty fish. He laughed as I continued to turn away. He paused before sitting down beside me, much to my disapproval.

Do you... hate me?" He asked seriously.
"No," I replied sharply.
".. It just feels like you do." He explained.
"I just.. can't help but... Look, I don't know what motive you have for "saving" me there. I didn't need your help. I could-"
"No. There was no motive. I just couldn't bear to see Elli and her gang hurt a new student."
"Wait. Elli? You two are on nickname terms?"

"... It's just a habit. We were childhood-"
"Get out," I demanded. "It's been two fucking days since I've been here and she's trying to make my life a living hell. I DO NOT. I repeat, DO NOT want to associate with you bunch here. Just leave me ALONE." I yelled, pointing towards the front door.

I glanced over at Lisa, indicating that I want him out of our property. She looked worried but nodded and ushered him out. "I'm sorry, I think you should give her some time to calm down, alright?" As she closed the door, her attention directed back to me. "Are you okay?"
"I'm fine. I'm going back to my room." I stated before stomping back upstairs.

I was so damn tired of yesterday's bullshit and now this?? Can't a girl get a break?
