Running Detective [HIATUS]

Chapter 9

After Jong Kook and HaHa joined, they underwent training of all sorts. Reaction training, physical, mental and many more. As expected, Jong Kook aced all of them while his opposite brother failed most of them. Most of them I say. His reaction and adaptation to situations were superb. His results were eerily similar to Kwang Soo. But mentally, they were not strong enough.

~~~ 1 month after both brothers joined

"Everyone! Case!!" Jaesuk shouted across the huge basement when he walked down the stairs. Each of the members, after hearing Jaesuk's voice had put down what they were doing and gathered at the glass table.

Ever since HaHa joined and code named Penguin, they bought chemistry equipment for him that occupied the initial empty space at the back of the basement. Every time HaHa enters the basement, he would swing the pure and snow white lab coat over his arms and wear it over his outfit. His round specs replaced with the safety goggles and a pair of headphones over his ears.

On the other hand, Jong Kook has been spending time with his lovely and baby weights in the corner of the room. The amount of physical training equipment is remarkable to anyone that witnessed how much he exercised. The Tiger now also serves as a physical training instructor to the group.

Sitting in front of the TV is Gary. He had already sat there for hours trying to complete a 10000 piece puzzle. The amount of concentration and patience he has puzzled many. Unsurprisingly, there were about 10 more unpieced puzzles under the coffee table.

At the kitchen was Suk Jin. He was making himself some delicious and aromatic coffee. Without anything to do, he decided to sit down on the sofa and watched TV.

Sitting at the glass table were Kwang Soo and Joong Ki. Kwang Soo was busy with his laptop or more specifically, his website. On the other hand, Joong Ki was on his phone and smiling to himself once in awhile as he typed down messages.

"Dong Hoon ah... Dong Hoon ah! DONG HOON AH!" Jong Kook shouted at the blond as HaHa shocked out of his experiment. The liquids were a mess on the table. Effervescence can be seen bubbling in the glass container over a bunsen burner.

"Neh!" HaHa offed the bunsen burner and plucked his goggles from his eyes.

"Case!" Jaesuk shouted once again.

"Okay!!" HaHa nodded as he slipped out of his lab coat and hung it on a clothes stand nearby. Reaching the glass table, HaHa pulled the seat beside Gary and sat down.

"Where's Ji Hyo noona?" Joong Ki asked as he looked around and found that the Lynx was missing.

"She's out gathering information. I met her just outside of the house when she wanted us to accept this case." Jaesuk answered.

"So... What's the case?" Suk Jin asked as he sipped his coffee.

"A simple prostitution case. Penny Sim, is Ji Hyo's friend and a prostitute at KusN00y Love. In order to earn a living to raise her one and only brother, she has to study and work at the same time. She consulted Ji Hyo and told her that she didn't want to be a prostitute anymore." Jaesuk explained.

"So our lovely Mong Ji wants us to help her?" Suk Jin replied.

"Hahahaha! I bet!" Kwang Soo laughed.

"So, did Ji Hyo went to the prostitute?" Jong Kook asked, furrowing his brows.

"Yeah. To investigate."

"Isn't that too dangerous for a girl??" Jong Kook stood up.

"Yeah, and nope. Dangerous for normal girls but Ji Hyo is different. She knows how to defend and protect herself. However, for safety wise, we have someone here to protect her, right?" Jaesuk wiggled his eyebrows at the boring guy sitting head on arms at the table.

"Yeah! Yeah!" HaHa laughed and smacked the table with his palm.

"Excuse me, Ji Hyo noona has my protection." Joong Ki said calmly as everyone burst into laughter.

"Alright fine. I'm moving out now." Gary said as he stood up.

"Wait! I want to go too!" HaHa shouted.

"Why?" Jaesuk asked.

"I forbid you, Dong Hoon ah."

"I just want to try out something!" HaHa cried.

"You created something, hyung?"

"Yeah! Look at this!" HaHa fished out a small blue colored ball from his pocket.

"What's that?" Joong Ki asked, curious.

"Kwang Soo, if you would so kindly?" HaHa smiled deviously as he called out to the maknae.

"Y-yeah..?" Kwang Soo shuffled forward as he stood up.

"Hehe...." HaHa back stepped to further the distance between him and Kwang Soo. Suddenly, he threw the blue and hard ball and Kwang Soo.

"Ow!!!!" Kwang Soo shouted as the ball came in contact with his elbow.

"What was that?!?!" Kwang Soo shouted as he rubbed his elbow.

"My new weapon! But it's just a small impact to human body. I have yet to make larger ones though."

"That's pretty cool!" Joong Ki praised.

"But that's not enough to protect yourself." Jong Kook said mercilessly.

"Calm down. We have Gary here remember? Ma brother will take care of yours." Jaesuk replied reassuringly.

"Yep. I'll protect this tiny penguin here."

"Hey! I'm not tiny! I'm just short! And excuse me! You're just a few centimeters above me!" HaHa retorted disputingly.

"Ok. Ok. Come on, let's go." Gary shaked his head and went up the stairs.

"Wait for me!!" HaHa raced and caught up to Gary as fast as he could.

"And since when did I agreed?" Jong Kook turned to face Jaesuk.

"I thought you agreed! But whatever, I knew you would!" Jaesuk laughed to himself and walked away, leaving Jong Kook speechless.

"Hyung, get use to this." Joong Ki 'helpfully' adviced.
