The door opened and Ahsoka and Rex stepped in, founding Grey tied into the bedleg. Gray looked away. "Relax solider, we want you no harm," said Rex and kneeled to his level. "Stay...away," Grey said and tried to move back. "Do you know about the chip?" asked Rex calmly and looked at his eyes. "The...what?" Grey asked confused. "The brain chip. It makes you do those things. It's controlling you. Can I take it off?" Rex asked, and Grey nodded shyly. Then a memory hit him. Hard. The bullets hitted the body on the ground. She didn't mean anything to him. Traitor. No. This was so wrong. Execute the jedi, he hears himself say. No escape. Gray looked at Rex, looking scared. "Is Caleb- umm Is Kanan okay? Is he safe?" Grey asked quietly. "He's safe. And now we are going to free you from that chip," Ahsoka said smiling cindly. "Thank you Commander, Capitain," Grey whispered. Rex started open up the knots. Rex kept Greys hands still tied in, and lifted the old man up. "Let's go," Rex said and they took Grey to the medbay.
Hera sat on the cockpit looking out of the window. She had a strong desire to hit Grey in the face. She was leaning her right palm on her forhead. Then she stood up, and walked to Kanans cabin. "Everything okay love?" she asked and walked inside. "Yeah, I'm fine," Kanan yawned. Hera walked beside him and kneeled on his level. "You sure?" Hera asked "Yeah I'm sure," Kanan smiled, but his smile died when Hera didn't smile. "Is something wrong?" Kanan asked concerned. "That guy. Just. Shot. You. And all you care about is his well being?" Hera bluted out nearly shouting. "He doesn't know what he's doing. I want to help him," Kanan said, but Hera continued nearly shrieking: "Doesn't know, doesn't know? He tried to kill you!" Kanan turned his head away. "Do you even see what you're saying?" Hera shook her head and walked out of the cabin. I don't thrust him. I can't. He killed Master Billaba. He has destroyed everything. Kanan shook his head. Clear you mind. He sigh deep. Nothing had felt so hard in years. Nothing was bringing her back. She was gone. And revenge was not the way. Not the jedi way, nor his way. But to forget. To forgive. But he couldn't forget. And forgiving again and again...was the hardest part. And the stinging pain in his side was not helping. He closed his eyes and tried to sleep, hoping he wouldn't have nightmares.
Grey woke up. Everything was a little blurred, but it was normal, right? Somebody had been removing things from his head. He felt so free. He had a free will. He wanted to see Caleb. No. Kanan. He needed to see Kanan. To apolige. What if he hated him? What if he never wuld forgive. But before he could think any further, Ahsoka and Rex came in. "How y're feeling?" Rex asked. "Free," Grey said, and gave them a big smile. "That's a wonderful feeling, right?" Rexs smirked. "Yeah," Grey said and sit up on the edge of his bed. He touched the back of his head. It had a large bandage over it. But isn't freedom worth someone poking your brains? "Woah," he mumbled himself. He had stood up little too quickly, and had to lean on the wall. "Careful there Brother!" Rex shouted, as he and Ahsoka ran to help him. "Not so quickly," said Ahsoka,"You need to rest." Grey sat down and then lied down. "Yeah, sure," he said, and close his eyes.
Ahsoka walked down a hallway, connecting the main hangar, and the ghost together. She climbed down the ladders to ghost. "Hey," Hera said. She was cooking dinner for the crew. "What are you doing here? I didn't expect quests," She continued. "I'm not going to stay long. I just got some happy news to Kanan," Ahsoka smiled. "Oh. Well, go ahead. And if you please could tell him, that dinner is nearly ready," Hera smiled, and continued cooking. Ahsoka walked past Sabines room, and saw Ezra and Zeb arguing something in the room opposite it. Then She opened Kanans cabins door, and stepped in. "Hey," Kanan said. "Hey," Ahsoka said. "How nice of you to come and visit. But I quess you have news?"Kanan smirked. "In fact I do. We removed the chip from Greys brain, but he needs to rest. He is now free," Ahsoka smiled. Kanans heart jumped. He is free. "Can I see him when he is up?" Kanan asked. His heart was racing wild. "Well I don't see a thing why you couldn't," Ahsoka said and smirked. "Oh, and by the way, Hera told me to tell you that dinner is almost ready," Ahsoka said walking towards the door. She turned around in the doorway and winked. Then she closed the doors, and said goodnights to Hera, climed the ladders, and came to the main room, and started a really important business call. "This is Fulcrum..."
Hera lifted the fryingpan from the stove, and put it in the table. Ezra and Zeb had already smelled the food, and soon Sabine joined them. Hera stood up and went to Kanans cabin. "Hey Kanan, do you want to try and walk to the table, or do I get your food here?" Hera asked looking down to Kanan. "There is no try, of course I'm coming!" he laughed, and rolled on his left side, putting all his weight on his elbows. His right side stinged a little, as he putted weight on his right palm, but he managed to sit up on the edge of his bed, and smiled. Hera helped him on his feet, and then to walk out of the room. Sabine, Ezra and Zeb cheered as Kanan and Hera walked slowly to the kitchen.
Grey was asleep. Going through all his memories good and bad, seeing through all those lies, alive, breathing. Free. Waiting for another chance. He woke up peacefully, with less blurr in his vision. He sat up, and then, slowly, slowly stood up. Free.
