2 months had passed after I cried in front of him. I gave him the chance of being his friend but I'm still that masungit as he calls me. I can't be the old me with him.
Before, I used to be so friendly and nice, I've always been the happy girl everyone knows. But not until two of the most important men left me. My dad died when I was 15, I was so sad until I met this guy who cheered me up, and brought back the smile on my face. He's name is Jasper, we became so close until he said he likes me. and then after a few months, we became couple. I was so happy with him and so he is.
We lasted for almost 2 years, he would always tell how much he loves me and that he would never leave me no matter what, he even promised that. But he failed to keep his promise, he died. He didn't say he had this sickness, he was so unfair, he just disappeared for a week without saying goodbye and then I knew he already passed away. What's even worse is that I was the only one who didn't know anything. My family and our friends knew he was sick. That's one of the reasons, why I pushed them away, they became unfair.
Today was his death anniversary, one year had passed, pero hindi nabawasan ang kirot sa puso ko dulot ng pagkawala niya. I guess it'll never be easy to forget the pain. I didn't knew that the one who brought back the smile on my face would be the one to bring back the sadness and pain to me as well.
While I was laying on my bed crying, i heard a knock at my door. I got nervous, who would knock on my door? It's 11:00pm already, until I heard a voice. I can't be mistaken, it's Vann.
I opened my door and I saw him sitting on the floor holding a liquor. He's drunk. He smiled at me when he saw me. I saw the sadness in his eyes. I lifted him up and helped him get inside my unit.
He laughed a little, but I can see how sad he is. This is the first time I saw him like this, he was always been the happy guy who would always bug me. He continued to drink his liquor.
"Vann, stop drinking. Lasing ka na." I said calmly.
"Hindi ako lasing, nakainom lang." i took the bottle from his hand.
"Ano bang nangyari sayo?" i didn't know he's going through something.
"Yung kaisa-isang tao na nagpahalaga sa akin, wala na. Iniwan niya ako. Yung kaisa-isang tao na itinuring akong pamilya, umalis din." a tear fell from his eyes.
"Anak ako sa labas ng isang mayamang businessman. Noong namatay ang nanay ko, kinupkop niya ako, pero hindi sa bahay niya. Ayaw sa akin ng asawa niya. Malamang, sino ba naman ang gugustuhin makita ang bunga ng kataksilan ng asawa niya." i didn't say anything.
"Pero yung anak nila, or i should say, k-kapatid ko. My brother, tinanggap niya ako ng buong buo. Walang panghuhusga. Hindi man kami lumaki sa iisang bubong, sobrang close kami. Tumatakas siya, just to hang out with me. Kaso wala na siya. Nagkasakit siya, at namatay." hindi ko napigilan ang luha sa mga mata ko. Posible kayang, siya ang tinutukoy ni Jasper? ang kapatid niya sa labas?
"Vann, can you tell me his name?" basag ang boses ko habang sinasabi iyon. He looked at me confused.
"Jasper Ramirez" napahagulgol ako sa pangalang sinabi niya.
"Oh my God, Vann. Ikaw nga ang kapatid niya. Jasper, he's my ex, he's the reason why you saw me crying before"
I never thought I would meet Jasper's brother. I never thought it would be Vann.
