I love London. I really do. I never wanted to leave this city, I was planning on growing old in the house I lived in ever since I've been born.

Well, until my parents bursted that bubble.

My dad was offered a job in Sydney, like a really well-paid one. I know it wasn't easy for him to take the offer because I know that he loves this city as much as I do.

I of course refused to go with them, I couldn't leave all my friends behind. The house I grew up in, all the memories I made, all my favorite places. I just couldn't.

In the back of my mind I knew I didn't have a choice. There's no way a 17 year-old could live all by herself in London, with no job while her parents moved to another continent.

So here I am now, unpacking all my things in my new room in Sydney. This room was way bigger than my old one and our house was just beautiful.

The neighbourhood seemed very nice as well. All the people we met so far were exremely polite und seemed pretty excited to meet people from the other side of the world.

When I was in the middle of unpacking my clothes, I heard the doorbell ring and sprinted down the stairs.

'I'll get it!", I yelled since I knew my parents were busy cleaning and decorating the house.

I opened the door and a very pretty girl with blonde har and green eyes stood in front of me. She seemed as if she was about the same age as me.

"Hi, I'm Allison, but you can call me Ally. Welcome to Sydney! I was wondering if I could help you guys with anything and oh, my mom told me to give you this!", she said happily while holding up a little basket with a bunch of sweets and the famous Vegemite. I couldn't wait to try it.

"That's so nice of you! Come on in! I'm Elena by the way", I said as I opened the door wider to signal her to come in.

"I would introduce you to my parents, but I guess now is not the time", I laughed while walking past the living room where I saw my mom almost falling off a chair as she tried hanging up a photo of our family.

"It's fine, you guys are probably very stressed out."

"We are. We got here yesterday but we slept in a hotel since most of our stuff wasn't here yet. We've been up since 7 in the morning, I hope we finish everything today", I told Allison as we walked to my room.

"If you wanna help, you can unpack that box over there. It has photos and decoratin in it. I'm gonna take care of my clothes."

"Your wish is my command!", Ally joked while making her way over to where the box was standing.

We continued unpacking and I was really thankful that Allison come by and helped me with my stuff. She told me some stuff about Sydney and I was pretty shocked when she told me that it sometimes rains spiders, but other than that, everything she told me sounded pretty good.

We were done at around 4:30 pm and she asked me if I wanted to drive around far a bit so she could show me the city. Even though I was tired, I agreed because I'm actually very excited to go out and explore, that's one thing I always loved to do.

I quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a baby pink crop top and went down the stairs with Allison.

I told my parents that Allison is gonna show me around a little and after my parents made sure I had my phone and everything so I wouldn't get lost right away, I was free to go.

We decided to use my car, since Ally didn't have her own and she gave me directions in where to go and how to get to the town center. She showed me a few of her favorite places and places to go to when I want to have a good time, like the cinema and a little hotel where local bands often play.
